Is it just me who thinks this just doesn't look right? Loads round here teaming with the uniform North Face gillet

I don't think they look right on anyone. Vile things.

I don't think they look entirely "right" however am willing sometimes to sacrifice style for comfort here as they are just so cosy. My apologies to the fashion police!

shinyshoes · 23/02/2011 09:12

I have some 'Ugg Kensington' £250.00 the effing things cost me, in the pic they look feminine enough but you have to go a size bigger with Uggs. I had to buy a size 7, i'm only 5ft.

The amount of times people have asked me 'are you wearing your ole mans working boots '

Angry

offending item

shinyshoes · 23/02/2011 09:13

they are heavy bastards too and I can't help but clump around in them

gregssausageroll · 23/02/2011 09:21

I have some but I generally wear them at home or a quick nip to the shop.

Can't drive in the blasted things!

I don't care what anyone says = they are comfy and cosy.

walesblackbird · 23/02/2011 09:24

I'm 51 and I love mine. And frankly I'm old enough not to worry any more about what anyone thinks of me. Mine are dark brown with fur around the top and have tassel things. They're very sturdy, very comfortable but rubbish in the rain (or snow as I discovered in Disneyland Paris in December when it snowed heavily!).

rusmum · 23/02/2011 09:34

they look horrid full stop!

MoonGirl1981 · 23/02/2011 10:08

I saw a girl wearing a grey pair yesterday. She was standing still and I thought they looked quite nice. Then the poor girl tried to walk - elephants feet! There's no way of walking gracefully at all.

needmyrootsdone · 23/02/2011 10:26

I agree with many of you above..just can't seem to see the appeal at all. Where I live they used to be very much a MC uniform but seem very chavtastic now + quilted barbour coats!!

I personally don´t wear ugg boots but I think I might be tempted if I lived in the UK. I have to admit that they can actually look smarter on women 35 plus especially when worn by someone who is groomed wearing good quality knitwear etc

catinboots · 23/02/2011 10:49

BearPaws instead

Bonsoir · 23/02/2011 10:50

They are dreadful ugly things that ruin your arches. Stay well away.

ladysybil · 23/02/2011 10:57

they are the most amazing things when you have a lifestyle that means you have to walk, and need to be comfortable and warm. and not need to be smartly dressed.
they are a high fashion item, so obviously wont appeal to everyone looks wise.
age shouldnt be a barrier, unless you make it one. obviously , dont wear with granny skirts and blouses/cardigans combo.

I'v just spent 200 quid on some and yes y'all right they are horrid Sad

Karbea · 23/02/2011 16:24

I love my Uggs. I wear them off duty with Skinnies, or tights, or when I'm running OH to the station early in the morning with my Juicy tracksuit - chavtastic! Smile

DonaAna · 23/02/2011 18:49

Only at home. I'm 38. The ugliest pair of shoes I own.

izzybiz · 23/02/2011 18:54

Im going to be 35 in April and I love my Uggs, have 3 pairs.

Id rather be warm and comfy (and I like the way they look) than poncing around in a wrap dress and leather boots from Clarks, Im 35 not 55!

needmyrootsdone · 23/02/2011 20:21

3 pairs ..wow -to think what I could do with that 750quid!!

QuickLookBusy · 23/02/2011 20:33

I have a pair of Kensington Uggs. I wear them with skinny jeans on cold days. They are so warm and comfortable that I love them and as I am over 40 I don't care what anyone else thinks. Smile

CointreauVersial · 23/02/2011 20:41

Sawn off teddy bear feet! Grin

I also have big feet, and the thought of wearing something so.......clumpy and wide....fills me with horror. If I'm after flat, comfortable boots I'd rather wear riding boots/biker boots.

I just asked DH for his opinion - he said he quite likes UGG boots, but not on me, because I'm "too old". Angry OK, so I'm 44.

mathanxiety · 23/02/2011 20:42

Love them and I don't care who knows that about me [shameless, too old to care ].

mosschops30 · 23/02/2011 20:46

I think it depends what you wear them with, if you've got your pink velour travois tucked into a fake pair that slouch to one side then nasty nasty nasty.

But I've got a fab pair of chocolate brown sturdy HHFA that I just wear under jeans, and since I bought them 3 months ago I havent worn anything else (apart from on holiday) because they are so warm and comfy
