Anyone know if it's possible - and where - to get a sample of this? I don't want to buy a huge bottle until I know I like it.

I have the normal full fat branded moroccan oil with the blue label. My hair is long, thick and curly.

nicole333 · 03/02/2011 16:35

I need some of this oil!! I've been looking at the whole range and the cheapest way to get it. There are sets of mini products available on some websites, which include shampoo, conditioner, styling creme and of course the oil.

Does anyone have the regular styling creme? On one website it says you should use it with the glossing spray. Is that because the creme dulls your hair?

I'm only really interested in getting the oil in the hope it'll give my thick hair a more sleek look when I straighten it. But these kits are a good way to try everything.

valiumredhead · 03/02/2011 16:37

Just get the oil - you won't need anything else nicole - it's great stuff :)

ruddynorah · 04/02/2011 09:26

Just get the oil. No need for a kit. My hair is curly and looks fabulous curly or straight with the oil on.

darkmornings · 05/02/2011 10:35

Mine has arrived today I am very excited I will be testing it out soon.

CinemaParadiso · 05/02/2011 10:52

Is it really okay on hair with greasy roots & dry ends?? I hate anything that makes my hair feel greasy. Someone recommended Moroccan Oil to me, but tbh her hair always looks greasy Confused. Shall I just shut up & order a cheaper sample? Wink

3gorgeousboys · 05/02/2011 11:24

CinemaParadiso I'm the same as you - just got mine on thursday & it's amazing. It's absorbed INTO the hair, doesn't sit on top at all. My hair feels lighter & fluffier & smoother. I'm soooo glad I got it. Got mine off ebay :)

Shhhh · 05/02/2011 16:51

cinema, your friend is using to much if her hair looks greasy.

I have shoulder length ish hair and I use the light oil and I use one squirt (about 5p size). You honestly need a small amount. More or less depending on hair length.

If you have greasy roots and dry ends then apply it from the mid length of hair down to the ends.

As I have said before on this thread, I have been using mine now for over a week (maybe longer..Hmm) and I use it EVERYDAY and I can't believe how lovely my hair is.. looks and feels.

In fact I spoke to my usual hairdresser this week and suggested she buys some stock in for her to sell....

Well done to those who have bought already Grin

faustina · 05/02/2011 17:06

well I got mine on Thursday and I"ve used it twice so far and I'm VERY impressed. If things go on the way they are I'll definitely be shelling out for the big bottle.

What's the difference between the regular and the light oil? I have highlighted, dry, very curly shoulder length hair - which should I go for?

I've just ordered mine off ebay! I'll report back how I find it on my thick hair. I'm hoping for a sleek and shiny look.

Shhhh · 05/02/2011 17:17

faustine, I would go for the normal oil.

From what I know the light oil for for coloured hair but more suited to shorter or not so full hair iykwim.

I guess as you have curly hair you may be better with the normal one.

Try the sample of the normal one a few more try and judge it then..

faustina · 05/02/2011 17:34

okey doke will do - thanks very much Shh

no probs Smile

TrillianAstra · 05/02/2011 18:04

So if you buy "moroccanoil" branded stuff, it has loads of other ingredients. I have 100% argan oil. Not sure if that's better or worse.

It arrived yesterday and I tried it today, but I washed my hair at the gym and it got a bit blow-dried by the wind on the walk home so don't think I can comment just yet! :o

Thanks.

Shock but [tempted].

I don't do waiting either! Will see if we are in that area today (and if I can get rid of DH as he won't stand silently whilst I hand over that kind of cash! Grin)

Shhhh · 06/02/2011 11:33

lol wincy and ruby!

I was the same, I have lived without it for 31 years YET once I knew about it I had to get it right away..no way could I wait for the postie to bring it lol!

Know what you mean as well wincy about getting rid of your dh to pay for it..Hmm.

Im a sahm so no real income.. lol I paid for the shampoo/condition/oil in 2 transactions (£30 each transaction) so as half was paid for on join account and the other half out of my account Grin. Just so dh wouldn't be aware of how much I spent Shock.!

geeze, I hope he doesn't read this thread Blush

ruddynorah · 06/02/2011 17:33

it does seem like a lof money but it will last ages as you use so little. it's not like a bottle of mousse costing £30.

ScarlettWalking · 06/02/2011 19:56

Is it just for afro carrabean or curly hair? I would like to try it but have fine blond hair would it help with condition?

ruddynorah · 07/02/2011 19:17

Any hair.

WincyEtNightie · 07/02/2011 21:50

Wasn't able to ditch DH on Sunday Grin.
V Envy of your DH Ruby!

Is there an MN-approved/recommended online vendor? "MN does the research, so you don't have to" Wink TIA!

Oh, and any blondes able to confirm that it doesn't kill the colour like many mousses?
