i have a huge tummy. it sticks out further than my breasts do. finding clothes to fit is a nightmare. i got this coat from boden which i was really pleased with, but it was a tiny bit tight accross tummy. ds says it is too big on me. shoulders and bust. she thinks i should have bought a 14. but the sixteen barely covers my lump of fat......
i have this problem with most clothes. what do you think about looking int he maternity section? or is that just too sad?

ok - my top tip is eating fewer carbs will give you a flatter tum and helps stop bloating.

projectmanagerCOd · 10/10/2005 21:02

ok back later whne she has dished the stats

stitch · 10/10/2005 21:05

i weigh 75 kg, which is over 11 stone. possibly 12. am only 5'2". thisis more than i weighed when full term pregnant with ds1...
diet isnt too bad actually.
cereal for breakfast.
usually sandwiches for lunch
dinner is either more sandwiches, or if i have cooked, then curry, but i dont add much oil, so not particularly rich.
i think the problem is the quantities. and the lack of excercise.
i would like to get down to 60kg ish. which is about??/nine and a half stones.

JoolsToo · 10/10/2005 21:07

and are you eating a lot of rice? that'll give you constipation which won't help either!

sorry, that took ages to type.
snacking, and eating the kids food is definitely a problem. as is eating on the sofa, and at the computer wwwhilst on mumsnet.

no bread? but we just got into making it?
i havent actually made it for a couple of weeks now, as i noticed that i was the one eating most of it. and wasnt actually eating any meals during that time, as too fullon loaves of bread.

so no snacking etc. reduce carbohydrates. and go to the gym. and tell all on mn?

i dont eat much veg. do eat lots of fruit, but that tends to be part of the snacking.
curry every night? inmy husbands dreams. more like three times a weeks if that.
actually, this is making me realise that i actually dont eat a meal at night veryoooften. usually snack on kids leftovers etc, so not hungry enough for a proper meal

you don't need to flog yourself to death at a gym - especially if you ain't going to keep it up. If you can get into doing a yoga routine regularly you'll really see a difference - I did it for years and am trying now to get back into it. It really tones you - elongates the muscles. It's harder than it looks but at least you won't be puffing and panting. Has the added benefit of calming you too. I recommend it!

stitch · 10/10/2005 21:12

jools, the thing about this gym is that i can leave dd there. tried doing the walking everywhere thing, but i just wasnt managing it timewise.
ive never tried yoga, but my problem would be the childcare. wht to do with dc whilst at the class? and i dont think i could learn it from a book. dh is useless git at being around to babysit.
