Is this nice or hideous ?

Have been looking for a coat for dd to wear to church but can't find anything on the high street.

I saw thisthis on ebay and really liked it until I saw it was from BHS. Now I am swinging between thinking it is lovely and perfect for church to thinking it is rather hideous.

I have also seen them on ebay in red, but I prefer the green.

nah cod - my girl was always dressed in boys stuff - there was a lot of it about in the house and you dont have to iron frilly bits

It isn't for every day wear, just for church on a sunday over her more formal dresses.

I hear what you are saying about is this wise after yesterday's thread Cod, infact I didn't buy her some showy off clothes today because of that thread. But I don't want my dd to loose her sense of individuality, I just want her to be nice.

I also want to point out that she is not permanently dressed like an extra from Oliver, during the week she is quite a funky chick as is her mother - but I do belive in dressing formally for church.

I have decided not to buy the coat as I don't think the quality will be there tbh so will look elsewhere for a dress coat, I got a nice one in Daisy and Toms so might try there again.

agree with scummy - I really wanted to like it so I didn't look as though I was always disagreeing with you - but I really don't, sorry.

We go to church too and my dds wear their normal sunday messy clothes I am afraid

TheRtHonBaronessEnidOBE · 09/10/2005 10:23

i have to say a friend of mine has a 4 year old who has a lovely tweedy coat for church - quite fitted and formal but not too over the top, something like that would be good?

triceratops · 09/10/2005 10:27

It wouldn't be warm enough for my church .

It is not a coat I would choose, but if you and your dd like that kind of thing you should not be swayed by the label.

A tweedy one would be nice I agree Enid, she suits that kind of thing.

Gosh beetroot you dislike it so much you posted twice.

I am not buying it because I don't think BHS do well made clothes. But if I were I wouldn't be restricting her in anyway or forcing her to be pretty and dainty all the time. It would be worn walking in and out of church and possibly at Christmas.

sorry Beetroot just realised you didn't know it was for formal wear.

lol Enid I much prefer people who speak there mind and am not bothered if you don't like something i do!! It is just a coat ffs! Not the end of the world. Viva la difference and all that.

I am a bit of a prissy about Sunday and just couldn't send dd in her everyday clothes. She has a section in her wardrobe just for Sunday wear which is very different from the rest of the week. During the rest of the week she is a funky chick, am a great fan of Zara, oililly and uttam. I do love Balu as well which I know isn't everyone's cup of tea.

twinsetandpearls · 09/10/2005 14:58

No you probably just have a fuller life than me!
