Love Eva Longoria's - I would wear that..

Nicole Kidman looks totally washed out in that white.

Natalie Portman is pregnant, so I can allow her some allowance, altho the drape of the dress is nice, the flower is wrong wrong and far too big..maybe without the stem would be better??

Michelle Williams looks horrid.

Lea Michele's peach number reminds me of a hideous bridesmaid dress I was forced to wear...urgh..

Love Sarah Hylands bustier coffee number and Julianne Hough's black sheath with jewelled neck. Ann hathwaway looked stunning...bitch :)

Halle Berry looks like a La Senza advert..yuk, Tilda Swinton just looked plain scary...Helen Mirren looked lovely, Helena Bonham Carter looks like a freak show...but no change there then.

Ugly Bettys Vanessa Williams is trying WAY too hard on her camera pose - quite hilarious, Jennifer Love Hewitt's dress has a very odd top, the cut is awful doesn't sit right at all...??

and lastly, Glee's Amber Riley look fab!

YY to Julianne Hough's black dress - v classy. The white and nude ones generally all look a bit washed out I think. I mean, it takes quite a lot for Scarlett Johanssen to look insipid.

Michelle Williams disappointing - she often looks fabulous.

Hmm Natalie Portman not sure - the dress material looks a bit too much like a bad 70s nightie to me. I wouldn't want to see her standing too closse to a naked flame in that.

For the record, I care not about fashion or slebs or schlepping up and down red carpets.

But did see CZJ in the paper this morning (peering over somebody else's shoulder on the bus).

Now I know nowt about clothes and whatnot, but she looked pretty. And vair happy.

Agree on Anne Hathaway and Helen Mirren looking great.

Think Anne H was the best of the night overall.

Yes SoH, CZJ did look good I thought - she sometimes picks very frumpy-looking frocks. She has a lot to celebrate if MD has beaten his cancer I guess!

Oh I love looking at all the dresses after an awards ceremony!

My favourites were Mila Kunis, Amy Adams and Claire Danes. However, my disclaimer is that I'm far from a fashion guru and I suspect my personal style is pretty conservative.

And just when I thought nothing could beat some of those green dresses for peculiar ugliness, I clapped eyes on the trio who all look like Big Bird from Sesame Street.

And I'm going to break with the theme of this thread and say that I LOVE Helena B-C's dress not so keen on the mismatched shoes though

By far and away the best one was Eva Longoria's. Just perfect. Most of them were fairly lacklustre I thought. Heidi Klums' was grim, and as for Tilda Swinton, words fail me. Has she come out in her bath towel? She's a peculiar one at the best of times but that is just grim.

I adore Christina Hendricks but she got it wrong here - too fussy, makes her look huge and matronly and the dreadful colour clashes with her hair and is wrong for her gorgeous skin tone. If she wanted red she should have gone for a deep ruby/claret.

I loved all the green frocks.

The ladies in pale dresses generally looked bland.

Scarlett looks lovely, but the colour could have been a bit stronger. Sandra's is a similar but more pale shapeless version - she looks washed out and fed up. Poor Sandra.

Helen Mirren looks divine, as ever.

Angelina's is weird. It looks better from the back but the front is really frumpy. It's the puckering around the waist I think.

CZJ - a slightly odd and depressing shade of green and strange textured chunky fabric. The dress itself is beautiful but it's a bit too bridal or 'period costume' for the occasion I think.

Quite like J-Lo's. Simple, and elegant.

Like the floaty coffee-coloured empire line number with the embellished/sparkly front bit - can't remember who she was though!

LOVE that very electic blue sheath dress with the bright green peacocky type bodice - stunning colours. Julia someone or other?

Actually if HBC had for once in her life been a bit less anti-establishment, (brushed her hair, worn matching shoes and ditched the silly glasses) I think she could have made that dress look great. Vivienne Westwood stuff is stunningly high couture, but she's made it look like a used christmas cracker!

CZJ's dress reminded me of breastfeeding and putting cabbage leaves down my bra to relieve tenderness.

I loved HBC's Westwood dress - it is gorgeous. In fact a close friend texted me this morning to say i bet you liked it..... The sunglasses are a bit twatty but there is a better pic of dress on the BBC News website.

All a bit meh except CZJ green ballgown - i liked that. Even if you are gorgeous it's hard to carry off salmon pink / beige / magnolia etc.
