How often do you go to the hairdressers ?

Get nails done etc ?
Am trying to budget for next year and am thinking once every 10 weeks for a haircut, mid-length hair and colour (highlights) every 14 weeks ?
I'm going to go for nails once a month ?
I know I could do those myself but it's my only treat, don't smoke or drink or buy clothes really.

Cut every 6 weeks and colour every 18 for me, very subtle high and low lights that don't show roots. That works out at just under £50pcm which is my budget.

NorbertDentressangelOnTheTree · 01/01/2011 14:12

I have my hair cut every 6-8 weeks.

I occasionally colour my own hair and don't have nails done so cut and blow dry is my only extravagance.

ChasingSquirrels · 01/01/2011 14:15

hair - know someone who does it either here or there - costs £5, approx every 2 months
I was colouring it myself (well my mum was) so around £6 every couple of months, but I am growing it out now, can;t be bothered tbh. Doesn't look great atm, but am nearly there.
And will probably revert to colouring!

nail - do what? I have never in my life had my nails done.

mugggletoeandwine · 01/01/2011 14:22

I do my own.
Cut every 6-8 weeks, colour every 4-6 weeks.
Re-paint my bails a couple of times a week, file weekly and full buff/cuticle sort out once a month, though more often as needed.

MrsColumbo · 01/01/2011 14:29

I get my hair cut 3 times a year - it's long and curly, so I can get away with it; if it was straigh I'd want it to be perfectly straight-edged all the time. Never coloured it, other than a bad Shaders and Toners experience when I was 12!
Used to get eyelashed dyed and eyebrows waxed before I had DS2 - miss that.

mamatomany · 01/01/2011 14:43

I was kinda hoping that if I spent a bit more energy and money on looking groomed then I could get away with less on clothes and other tat that fills the house up with rubbish.
There's no way I could cut my own hair, I can hardly blow dry and as for nails, I can do them but they look such a mess when I do it's not worth the hassle.

I also pluck my eyebrows almost daily (I'm a tad obsessed)
My hair is poker straight but looks fine and is easy to cut.
I'm good at doing my nails too, and always like them to look good.
I'm a cleaner and it's my way of fighting against it!

deaddei · 01/01/2011 15:55

Hair cut/roots every 6 weeks.
Nails-toes every 5 weeks in the summer, fingers about twice a year.
Facials-every 8-10weeks, but I also have microdermabrasion every 6 weeks.

thefentiger · 01/01/2011 16:43

Roots every month -vvv grey !
Harcut every other month and highlights 4 times a year.
Nails - do myself
eyebrows -threading once a month.
Have virtually no hair on legs so shave once a month Grin

CybilScissorhands · 01/01/2011 16:45

Hair , well I'm of the DFIY school of hairdressing atm

nails, toes NEVER, do that myself too

roots, DIY as well

Will go and get a decent haircut eventually though, always used to

CybilScissorhands · 01/01/2011 16:45

and by I mean

newpup · 01/01/2011 16:50

I have my hair cut every 6 weeks and highlighted every 12 weeks. I have my eyebrows done every 4-6 weeks.

MrsSeanBean · 01/01/2011 16:52

If you have long hair you can get away with 3-4 months IMO.

jellybeans · 01/01/2011 16:55

I have medium length hair and go every 4-6 months for a c & b. I colour it myself, have only a few greys underneath. Would like highlights but don't want to commit to the hairdressers every 6 weeks so stick with doing it myself when can be bothered.

Alouiseg · 01/01/2011 16:56

I only have my hair cut about 4 times a year, I have my roots dyed monthly and I am a bit partial to a blow dry now and again.

Pedi and waxing monthly.

Eyebrow and top lip threaded monthly.

Mani v.v. Rarely as my nails are so crap it's barely worth it.

orienteerer · 01/01/2011 16:56

Every 6-8 weeks

BecauseItoldYouSo · 01/01/2011 16:57

Well I used to only get my hair done once every 6 months (or more often on when on holiday as cheaper with exchange rates). I don't get my nails done, however I do have massages and facials.

However, since I have discovered www.kgbdeals.co.uk www.groupon.co.uk www.livingsocial.com www.wahanda.com it has turned into once every 6 weeks for the hair and when I get a really good deal for a body treatment/facial.

verytellytubby · 01/01/2011 17:00

I go every 3 months (half head of highlights & haircut). My hair is very rooty by the time I go.

bellavita · 01/01/2011 17:04

I go to the haidressers every 6 weeks.

6th week - cut

6th week - cut and full head of highlights plus an all over colour similar to my own to minimise grey regrowth

6th week - cut

6th week - cut and half a head of highlights and root touch up of colour

Cycle begins all over again.

I do like having my nails done too, but I can do just as good a job myself - same with a pedicure - although I do tend to have one a week before our holiday.

Fleecy · 01/01/2011 17:04

I have my (long, straight) hair done every 3-4 months. It's a bit rooty by then but it's subtley highlighted so it doesn't look that bad. I think...

Do my own nails. Never had a facial.

JustAnother · 01/01/2011 17:09

hair: every 2 months, more or less. Only cut - I don't colour it yet
nails: once per month
facial: once every 6 weeks
pedicure: twice a year (spring and summer). The rest of the year my feet are covered, so I do my own
