How often do you go to the hairdressers ?

Get nails done etc ?
Am trying to budget for next year and am thinking once every 10 weeks for a haircut, mid-length hair and colour (highlights) every 14 weeks ?
I'm going to go for nails once a month ?
I know I could do those myself but it's my only treat, don't smoke or drink or buy clothes really.

Hair cut and colour (roots and highlights) - 6-8 weeks. Usually have a manicure at same time.

Eyebrow shape and tint and eyelash tint - every month.

Pedicure - every 4-6 weeks in summer, less often in winter, unless for special occasion.

Facial - occasionally.

gregssausageroll · 01/01/2011 17:41

My hair is every 7 weeks. It is short so looks a mess left anything longer. Don't bother with colour.

When we lived in Australia I had a manicure and pedicure every 2 weeks. They had amazing places that you were in and out in around 45 minutes and it cost the equivalent to £20. Your feet are on show all the time in oz so it was a must for me.

I have a colour and cut every 8 weeks

Litchick · 02/01/2011 12:37

I have a hair appointment every six to eight weeks to refresh colour and restyle.

For special occasions I also get a blow dry.

I try to have a manicure every Friday (I'm a writer, so nails take a battering).

In Summer, I get a pedi every fortnight too.

I did have a period when I had regular facials, but I honestly didn't see sufficient improvement to justfy the time.

SakuraSakura · 02/01/2011 12:47

hair cut twice a year, its long and straight and does look nice.

had a mani/pedi once. never had a facial.

cabbageroses · 02/01/2011 13:20

Crikey I must be a real cheap skate compared to some of you!

I have never had a facial in my life. TBH I would rather splash out on nice products and use them at home. I tend to give myself an hour once a week to have a face pack/exfoliate session, do toe nails and manicure.

Used to have hair cut every 6-8 weeks but am now growing it so can get away with 8-10 weeks or more.

Have highlights done ever 9 months! My hair goes much lighter in the sun, so I find that I get minimal root growth and as the highlights are 3 colours they look quite natural.

I am a recent convert to facials. I was amazed at how lovely it made my skin feel and how much nicer it looked. It just felt so clean and fresh. I get a card stamped when I go for my waxing and when I fill up the card I get £15 off any treatment so I have a facial (£15 with discount).

Litchick · 02/01/2011 14:04

What type of facial, Dexter?

There are so many to choose from, perhaps I should try a different method.

dexter73 · 02/01/2011 19:22

I'm not totally sure! I go to the salon in my town and get it done there. The girl who does it just looked at my skin and asked a few questions about it then got on with it! Am going in a weeks time and I am really looking forward to it.

cruelladepoppins · 02/01/2011 21:09

Hair cut and colour every 8 weeks or so. Costs £28.

Do just about everything else myself - except, I was given a beauty salon voucher for Christmas and got my eyelashes permed, was so pleased with the results I plan to do it regularly - every 6 weeks, £27 a pop. NB my eyelashes are naturally long but poker straight, so if I want to mascara them I usually have to curl them first and it is such a faff. Now they look great with no mascara on! DH was very Hmm about it, thinks it's tarty, I wish I hadn't told him - he comes up to people I'm talking to at parties, and says "what do you think of my wife's eyes?" Grrr.

SparklyJules · 02/01/2011 21:19

I only get my hair cut once a year. I have good hair, in that I can grow it and it still looks good.

Never had a manicure/pedicure as I can do that myself. Never had my eyebrows done as I do that myself too.

Never had a facial either as I have good skin and don't really think I'd gain anything from one?

Gosh - how much money am I saving by not doing all this beauty malarky?

appleslice · 02/01/2011 21:29

I have hair coloured every 6 weeks cut every 12
Facial every 4 weeks
Bikini and eyebrow wax every 4 weeks
Legs every 8 weeks

pollyblue · 02/01/2011 23:35

Haircut every 4 or 5 weeks - I've got a short, 20's style bob so it needs to be kept really tidy. Never have it coloured, never had a facial (though God knows could do with one). Nails - never. I make stained glass and my nails really suffer for my art Grin. Would be waste of time having them 'done'.

ninah · 02/01/2011 23:37

polly you sound cool

pollyblue · 02/01/2011 23:53

thankyou! Grin Never been called cool before....More "clapped-out".....

sue52 · 03/01/2011 00:00

Hair cut and coloured every 4 weeks.
Nails every 2 weeks.
Facial every 4 weeks.
Pedicure every 4 weeks.
Quick whizz over my legs with an epilator every 3-4 weeks.

Oumasrusks · 03/01/2011 08:17

Hair coloured once every 5-6 weeks and a cut every second time I go

I never have facials, or have someone else do my nails etc.

Northumberlandlass · 03/01/2011 18:09

Go to hair dressers every 5 weeks, alternate between cut & colour (although not full head, low lights / high lights).

Bikini every 5 weeks.

Pluck eyebrows everyday to get stray ones, then get a full reshape every 3/4 months or so.

Only get feet done in the summer, so from early June get them french polished.

Facials are a rare treat ! Usually when I get my bonus from work Grin

I used to be so low maintenance....look what happens with age !
