Where to buy jeans now I have a 'mummy tummy'?

Have searched the archives for the answer to this, was wondering if anyone had some recent advice?
I've always worn low rise jeans, as I was pear shaped, and anything with too high a waist left a gap at the back. Now since having dd, I can fit into my jeans, but am left with a roll of stomach over the top Sad.
Without looking like my mum, where can i get jeans now?
TIA

SparklyJules · 10/12/2010 17:40

Marking my place as I was wondering this myself today!

rusmum · 10/12/2010 17:47

sory no advice but would also like to know

SuchStuff · 10/12/2010 17:48

Sorry, also just marking my place. Surely someone will have an answer?!!

blissieblue · 10/12/2010 17:57

I've got these - they're fab, really comfy and keep my muffin top well contained!

nudie jeans

PeppaPigot · 10/12/2010 18:06

id lose some weight if it stopped me wearing jeans

moragbellingham · 10/12/2010 18:12

High waist Next skinnies. Not everyone's cup of tea but I like 'em.

GrimmaTheNome · 10/12/2010 18:15

Peppa, some women have a 'roll' that just won't totally shift even if the rest of them is slim. I had one such even pre-baby, low-rise has always been impossible.

GrimmaTheNome · 10/12/2010 18:16

Anyhow, I can get my jeans from anywhere without looking like my mum as she's 86 and has never worn them so I'm content with Next and M&S - so many styles one has to work, shape-wise.

HonestyBox · 10/12/2010 18:23

Oooo - marks place - love those nudie jeans, they look right up my strasse.

stnikkilarse1978 · 10/12/2010 18:24

I tried on some jeans in next today that were great for this. They were called ultimate bootcut. Like these I find any that come up to my belly button are good. They need to be quite thick denim and have a bit of stretch in them so they feel like they suck you in a bit. For these jeans obviously I wear longer tops. You need to shop around really and try on lots of pairs.

If I want to wear the low rise ones I also wear a pair of high waisted spanx to keep the muffin top in :)

stnikkilarse1978 · 10/12/2010 18:26

Oh and peppa don't bother making useless remarks like that. Some people have loose skin or a rounded tummy after having kids that nothing but surgery can fix.

lupo · 10/12/2010 19:58

Just got a nice pair today from Dorothy P, never go in as don't like the shop but friend recommened the jeans I got slim fit booy cut -nicely fitted on bum and legs and quite generous waist ..only £20 and are more slim fit/skinny than bootcut iyswim. Also got some cords

noddyholder · 10/12/2010 20:02

My friend bought some jeans from bhs by sophie someone or other stretch skinnies and they were 315 and I couldn't believe it they looked great really flattering and not too low rise

noddyholder · 10/12/2010 20:02

£15 not 315¬!

APixieInMyTea · 10/12/2010 23:16

I got some wide leg jeans from Wallis with a wide waist band. They look really good on and hold in my "mummy tummy" with the waist band. I'll see if I can find a link.

APixieInMyTea · 10/12/2010 23:17

Here

They look much better in RL and really smart on.

TryLikingClarity · 11/12/2010 08:22

noddy I think you mean Sophie Grey in BHS. I got a top from that range last winter and really liked the quality and style.

popcal · 11/12/2010 08:42

Have just bought some Skinny jeans from M&s indigo range after much searching for a pair. They are not high waisted but are not low rise and they are stretchy. Not bad for £25.

howdidthishappenthen · 11/12/2010 08:49

Peppapigot is a charmer, isn't she! I have a muffin top and I'm a 9 stone size 10- my recommendation is 7 for all mankind high waisted. Did wonders for my post c-section self esteem.

Longtinsellyjosie · 11/12/2010 08:55

Skinnies are no good if you're pear shaped though, you need a bit of bootcut to balance things out.

Have you tried Gap curvy? They're not too low rise...

detoxdiva · 11/12/2010 09:00

Second vote here for the Next High Waisted jeans - they do a boot cut and skinny and are v flattering in the tummy area Grin

KenDoddsDadsDogEatsTinsel · 11/12/2010 09:04

7 for all mankind
Topshop jeans very good
Also apparently not your daughters jeans are good too.

herhonesty · 11/12/2010 09:08

thats a nasty comment peppa!

second gap curvy

Restrainedrabbit · 11/12/2010 09:09

If you can afford them seven for all mankind are very flattering and good qualitytoo, people always ask if I've lost weight when I wear them :) got a pair from Rock and Republic too which are great for bottoms!
