Where to buy jeans now I have a 'mummy tummy'?

Have searched the archives for the answer to this, was wondering if anyone had some recent advice?
I've always worn low rise jeans, as I was pear shaped, and anything with too high a waist left a gap at the back. Now since having dd, I can fit into my jeans, but am left with a roll of stomach over the top Sad.
Without looking like my mum, where can i get jeans now?
TIA

I think the Uniqlo jeans are great as they are "mid rise" and come in various styles. Oh, and they are v cheap. Here is a link to an example of their jeans. Their jeans worked really well for me after DD1 and am hoping they will keep on doing the job once I shift some weight from the twins.

its just an idea but could you wear your old style of jeans and just get some very good suck it all in big knickers you know the ones i mean the realy long ones that come up to just under yor boobs im only suggesting as i sometimes have a bit of a wobble but i know anything higher than a low rise looks awfull on me and makes my bum look huge just an ide anyway hth

Peppa, when I had a BMI of 16.7 (vv underweight), I still had a tummy roll. I've always had it, it's just me.

It's actually less pronounced when I put weight on, as things fill in around it. But of course it took me years to realise that, because of so many people spouting like you. Hmm

Another big Next fan here. I have the high waist skinnies that hold in that loose bit I have after 2 babies 16 months apart. I also have some called ultimate flare - sound the same as the ultimate bootcut that someone mentioned. The denim is very thick with a slight stretch so holds it all in and the flared leg is flattering with heels. The first time I wore these - 2 of my neighbours asked me if I had lost weight Blush

Peppa - I am a size 8 - 10 and weigh 8 stone 7 and I still have a loose bit that spills over the top of low rise jeans.

I bought some high waisted WALLIS ones which I like and I am curvy.

ChristianaCatesby · 12/12/2010 10:51

They are flared which I personally find much more flattering than skinnies

Librashavinganotherbiscuit · 12/12/2010 13:59

aparentlty the 7 for all mankind high waisted model are worth every penny.

TryLikingClarity · 12/12/2010 21:21

Where do you buy those 7 for all mankind? Never heard of them before this thread.

dingdong3 · 12/12/2010 21:54

Hello TLC ,
they have them on the Lisburn Road in that shop beside Benetton (used to be Murphy NYE) and I think you can get them in Brazil at Shaftesbury Square and also House of Fraser. Expensive though. I'm another spanx fan...can wear all my usual jeans with the high waisted spanx. Just have to get long tops that don't ride up and show off my secret weapon!

bumpypaws · 13/12/2010 06:36

Wow - thanks for all the replies (apart from peppa, obviously - not helpful). Have been moving house so haven't checked back in for a while.
Like the sound of lots of these - time to hit the shops! Although in deepest devon some of them might be hard to find, so maybe some online investigation will be key! Smile

I don't wear jeans anymore and have chucked all of mine out but J Brand do a lot of their models in a mid-rise, which is more flattering.

TryLikingClarity · 13/12/2010 07:36

DingDong - thanks for the help :) Will borrow DH's bank card and go have a looksee Wink

bumpypaws · 29/12/2010 19:08

Update - have found the perfect jeans at Wallis, they fit great, high waisted enough to keep the tummy in, but not too high waisted so I feel frumpy! Hooray! Grin

also might be worth checking out the primark £8 as their skinnies seem to come up a little higher than others I've tried

madammecholet · 29/12/2010 21:10

Do you think peppa secretly has the biggest muffin top on this thread, and posted that to divert attention away from herself Wink

I second oasis scarlet jeans...v good imo.

bumpypaws · 01/01/2011 11:31

Yes madamme - she doesn't seem to have been back! At home trying to stuff her muffin top back into her pre-pregnancy jeans!

I've got Wallis high waisted boot cut ones. They're really comfy and cover my muffin top. I've also bought a vest top with tummy control panel in from M&S which helps, although it is VERY tight!

CeliaFate · 02/01/2011 09:32

Ooh, didn't read your update above before I posted Smile. Glad you've got a pair that suits.

oohlalabonbons · 20/03/2011 09:35

Have just bought (whispering)...some per una jeans!!!

Fantastic fit, keeps the tummy in check.

Oh, the shame!!!!

chocolateteabag · 20/03/2011 11:08

Yet another vote for the Next ultimate bootcut jeans. Lovely dark wash and nice and stretchy. £28 so figured they'd do until I can get back into all of my pre-pg jeans [drifts into wistful dreamland.....]

Meggles76 · 20/03/2011 16:18

The Next 'ultimate' jeans are your friend. They come in a range of cuts - ultimate flare (I keep banaging on about these on here as every time I wear them, friends and colleagues ask if I have lost weight), ultimate bootcut and some slimmer cuts and crops. They are made from a thicker quality denim with stretch and the rise is not too low.
