kittya · 07/12/2010 17:35

I have just rang them as it seemed the easiest thing to do to get a date out of them!!

The lady said that there is not date confirmed as yet and that they have been told to tell customers to ring back Friday and they may have a date then.

Fancy that.

Is it just me or is anyone else having a problem with the website? When I click on the item I want, it's not giving me an option to choose size, the box is simply not there

NorthernLurker · 09/12/2010 18:20

I logged on at work thank goodness at 17.02 and it was on - got everything I really wanted that was left - iyswim. Leggings for big girls, dress for dd2, dress top for dd1. pjs for dd3 but shame none left for older girls and a top for me. Now I'm going to have another look to see if there's anything I've missed Grin Needless to say the promised e-mail 'Oh yes Mrs Northernlurker we'll send you an e-mail when it starts' - hasn't arrived!!

YummmyMummy · 09/12/2010 18:31

I've had no problems with the site crashing but lots of stuff I hoped to get have gone. Never mind, I've still managed to find plenty of 'essentials'! I'm off to have another lurk around to see if I can find anything else worth paying an extra £4 delivery for.

tulpe · 09/12/2010 18:45

I have only made one solitary purchase from the sale - the denim mini in dark denim. Hope it is as nice as it looks as tis only £26.

Oh and am just about to email DH with link to the leather blazer which is now reduced to £160 Wink

PressureDrop · 09/12/2010 18:52

Got a couple of those hoodie/dress things for DD, as they wash really well.

The women's stuff was hirrific this winter, so didn't even look.

NorthernLurker · 09/12/2010 18:58

Ah have found pjs for dd2 now Xmas Grin

stillfrazzled · 09/12/2010 19:11

Hmmm. The item I wanted looked to be out of stock, but I phoned and it's in, just not in the sale.

Nice helpful girl said it MIGHT go in towards the end of the month, but they can't guarantee. So oculd keep an eye out.

Or I could order it now if I could afford it at full price!

What to do?

NinkyNonker · 09/12/2010 19:18

Am going to try one of the Breton tunics and velvet skirt, and ordered some baby cords for DD. Apart from that, not huge discounts and nothing much available. (I have a free postage label left, otherwise I might not have been more selective.) Might have a scope around at the very end and see what be picked up even cheaper!

NinkyNonker · 09/12/2010 19:18

Is there stuff not in the sale then? What were you after?

moragbellingham · 09/12/2010 19:20

Buy it now and then wait to see if it goes in the sale. If it does, buy it again at the reduced price. Either way - you have it, and if you've worn it loads by the time it does/might go in the sale then it's probably worth full price.

employmentlawquery · 09/12/2010 19:23

Well, I have ordered a few things that looked possibly of interest now that they are reduced, For example, the boyfriend cardie in silver, which has appeared in my size. Also, the Copenhagen tunic, which people on here said was flattering, if a bit thin for winter (it will be spring soon). Also a Jersey tea dress that is supposed to be v flattering to the figure. I also got a jumper for DH's Xmas stocking. DS is doing quite well. He has scored a box of socks (he has a thing about having colourful socks) and a very nice (half price) Fairisle hoodie that looks very warm, among other things.

sparklerainbowglitter · 09/12/2010 19:29

grrr none of the straightleg jeans I wanted left even though were plenty a few days ago. Might give it a week & wait for all the returns to bounce back or for them to revert back to the real stock levels having induced a retail frenzy

craftynclothy · 09/12/2010 19:30

I have £363 in my imaginary basket. Unfortunately I can afford about £3.63 GrinSad

MummyMyfanwy · 09/12/2010 20:03

I had the feeling the sale would start today when I was bored in college and tried to log onto the boden website and it was down. It always goes down just before the sale starts.

So I rushed home as soon as I could and I placed an order over the phone at 5pm because the site kept crashing.
My 12yo daughter has only got 1 thing on her Xmas list (other than the pony and puppy which isnt happenning) and that was the camouflage trousers. Thankfully I got them but when I asked about delivery they said it could take upto 3 weeksShock. The woman that took my order said that the sale had not officially started Confused and that it officially starts tomorrow - but the site had gone live early!! Perhaps thats why no one has had an email yet.

Fingers crossed those trousers get here in time for Christmas. I am hoping that because I orderd at the start(ish) of the sale that they may make it intime!! (hopeful emotion)!

5GoldenFimbos · 09/12/2010 20:05

I ordered jeans and t-shirt thing. Jeans are showing on the order confirmation as low stock, so here's hoping they come. Showing as 2 week delivery. Don't really mind how long they take as hopefully dh will be paid by the time they turn up!

GeorginaWorsley · 09/12/2010 20:27

Have bought floaty dress in cranberry as have it in another colourway and love it.
Also Copenhagen tunic and ribbon cardigan.
Have got dress, top and hoody for DD3.
Glad to have got in early, anyway.Wink

NinkyNonker · 09/12/2010 20:36

Don't forget if you do place another order on the same day you can get free delivery, just request it in the special instructions box on the payment page.

teej · 09/12/2010 23:46

Oh Satin thanks for that info - I am maligning Johnny unfairly, then. Dress now sold out in the US in her size too - will just have to keep an eye open for returns....

TheNextMrsClaus · 10/12/2010 00:32

I just noticed that you have to PAY if you want to return anything! Is this normal for Boden?? Nice though the sale stuff is, I think I'll leave it, thanks.

NorthernLurker · 10/12/2010 08:02

YOu can keep free returns labels from other purchases during the year and use them. That's what Ive done but I'll be very, very surprised if I'm returning anything. I already have the cosmopolitan top in two colours and have ordered the brown and everything else is for the dcs.

SkylineDrifter · 10/12/2010 09:04

Hi, I've never bought Boden before (don't think it was around when mine were small or if it was I couldn't afford it!!) but I am thinking of the Grey Funky Duffel for my granddaughter's second birthday in January. It looks like a great deal at £32. If I buy her age 2-3 do you think she'd get the rest of the winter out of it, and then the start of next winter? Are they sized quite generously?

Thanks for any help anyone can give me.

NinkyNonker · 10/12/2010 10:39

Most places don't give free returns do they?

GeorginaWorsley · 10/12/2010 11:14

skyline,I find the children's sizes generous. HTH

TheNextMrsClaus · 10/12/2010 13:13

NinkyNonker - yes they do! I order stuff online from Next, M&S, ASOS, La Redoute and others, and have never paid to send anything back. It would totally put me off buying mail-order if I couldn't easily return it.

moragbellingham · 10/12/2010 16:30

Ninky Nonker How does that work as I've placed 2 orders on same day. Is it too late to request a refund on delivery do you think?
