I've just been made redundant. So I'm cash short. I havent had an interview for ages and I have nothing that fits other than a black single breasted fairly longline (over bum) jacket which is quite smart (but it wont button up any more!) I dont think that I will need to wear a suit, but I do believe I should be smart and good quality. (this is theoretical as I havent got any interviews yet, but I will - Im a software tester if your wondering so will be a technical environment - depending on the company it could be a suit culture or jeans and t-shirt - have worked for both)

I'm a curvy 14 and 5ft5. I like the sleeves on this - I think they will balance me out a bit, also have baby belly which may or may not be helped by the pleats.

I think I'd order both the long and the medium as its free returns

Do you think its the right balance of smart but not suited?

I would always go for black trousers, black jacket, and the brightly coloured tshirt/shirt/jumper depending on organization.

sorry i dont think it's smart enough. I am also a software tester and even in my casual environment, a sharp (neat) suit is a must for an interview as you are gonna have to hold your own against pushy project managers and the like, and the company must have absolute confidance in you above all else.

I don't think it's too informal, especially with a jacket, but I don't like the length. If I bought it I'd shorten it to just above the knee.

Tether's dress is lovely (god, she's good at this!). You'd feel a million dollars in it.

Could I wear a black Boden Mock Wrap dress to an internal interview? I have one on Thursday, and I REALLY want the job, but standby suit is a little snug at moment. Also curvy 14, 5'8".

nice, needs a jacket though, and smart high heels.
