Too cold for flip flops to warm for boots.........HELP!

I have about 6 pair of flip floppy type things and about 5 pairs of boots and nothing for the bit inbetween.

I tried a pair is casual shoe/trainer things today in clarks but I'm not sure I'll wear them enough to justify the £40. Ok that's not huge amount of cash but if they get chucked in the back of my wardrobe after a few weeks then it is a waste.

My only other footwaer are my now redundant running/gym trainers and these would be rubbish in cold wet weather.

Help!!

laughinglil · 19/09/2005 15:28

i am wearing a few pairs of ballet pumps! perfect for any weather!

aloha · 19/09/2005 15:34

Ballet pumps.

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 15:39

Ah yes, I was out today in flip flops and then realised no one else was. Thought everyone must be thinking 'Ooo look at her in her flip flops' ha ha, so whats the answer guys. Its deffo too early for boots.

Clogs
unless you have laminate floors and live in the flat above me.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 15:40

Get thee to Clark's. They have some lovely 'transition' shoes that are perfect - and comfortable.

I've got my eye on their dress shoes for the holidays now I've FINALLY trained myself to walk in high heels again. But don't really have any place to wear them . . . .

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 15:40

NEXT also has some lovely seasonal footwear out.

Drool!

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 15:44

Clarks , do Clarks do nice shoes? Clarks? , really, am off to look.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 15:45

They have some nice heels, mad. Particularly a pair of strappy pink satin ones . . .

compo · 19/09/2005 15:48

I've got my boots out already - they're so comfy. From Next last winter

SleepyJess · 19/09/2005 15:49

MMH, trainers.. said so below. But I am invisible today.. so you won't see this either..!

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 15:50

Well, I take it back, am shocked. Would never have thought of Clarks. Thats the second time today, Id never been to H&M before until a MNer suggested it.

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 15:52

Ooo sorry SJ, I try to avoid trainers as I always think they my make arse look big.

LadyTophamHatt · 19/09/2005 15:53

ballet pumps would be a no-no for me because I have the wierdest flat feet so they go all out of shape and look awful.

Sleepyjess, if you looked like the girl I saw earlier than I'd say yes chavtastic but I very much doubt you'd have ear-rings like her too.....In fact i bet my life that you haven't........Massive gold hoops with the word "BITCH" across the middle. Nice.

I like H&M for clothes, indeed I'd love one of their velvet blazers, but have no idea what size my top will be after this baby is born and breastfed. Their shoes, however! The two pairs I've had fell apart after one season. Very disappointing. Conversely, I wear Clark's shoes almost exclusively for work and have had several pairs for 3+ years with only having to have the heels replaced.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 15:53

I don't wear trainers except to go for a walk.

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 15:56

The gym only for me, perhaps if I went a bit more often my arse wouldnt look so crap with trainers.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 15:58

This is just me personally, but I feel trainers are unattractive and draw attention to the feet. Yuk. I walk for exercise and it's the only time I wear trainers.

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 16:00

Sheer vanity for me, youd have thought that Id be old enough to do 'comfy' now. Dont do cardies either.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 16:01

I do like ballet wraps, and have one delicious cardie w/a detachable fur collar, but otherwise, no trainers or cardies here. No trousers w/pleats, either.

madmarchhare · 19/09/2005 16:04

Ah, ballet wraps are different, they come under 'tops'. What do you call those long cardi things that are more like coats?, I have one of those.

expatinscotland · 19/09/2005 16:06

I want a full skirt I saw in H&M, but have no idea what size I'll be in a few months after this baby. Wwwaaaa! It's really nice!

sweetheart · 19/09/2005 16:08

I'm in sling back court shoes - like the ones on this page
