I am getting married in January....tis just going to be me, DP, our kids and both of our sets of parents.

its going to be VERY cold I would imagine, so what the hell do I wear? I went to a registry office wedding last summer and the bride wore a proper dress but I don't really want any of that shit.

we only decided today! I am sooooo excited :)

I wore a blue skirt and top in a sort of chinese style.

Congratulations Grin.

So what sort of things do you like? Colours, shapes, styles icons?

Please give us a clue...

I was looking at Hobbs everything, I agree there is some lovely stuff.

upahill · 03/11/2010 12:17

I wore a designer trouser suit. I loved it and it was really trendy.
It wasn't boring or looked like it should be in an office or anything. It was very fluid fine grey and I wore a purple shirt underneath.

superv1xen · 03/11/2010 12:20

ok

i am 30, i am a bit of a rock chick type (got some pics on my profile) not really into getting dressed up ever really :o the nearest i get to being dressed up is wearing denim cut off hotpants, biker boots and a band t shirt when i go to gigs :o

my day to day style is skinny jeans or leggings with a baggy jumper or cardigan.

would i look a bit manly in a suit? i want to at least try look feminine Blush

thanks for the ideas and the congrats :) x

Superv!xen. I was same as you - rock chic and 30 when I got married. My normal stuff is jeans, convers or books, biker jacket or in winter a Belstaff so I know what you mean. My trouser suit worked but what about skinny black trousers instead of jeans(It is a formal occasion after all!!!) and emm I'm thinking...............

I wore a blue and gold kaftan and my hair up with curls hanging down. It was beautiful.
DH wore thai pants and a cool T shirt.
I am glad we wore things that reflected our personalities

Wear what you like! And get a lovely warm coat for over the top... we got married on the coldest day of the year, but it was beautiful, one of those crystal clear days. I wore a strapless gown, but had a furry cost thing for outside too, it was fine, felt no cold as adrenalin pumping :)

Congratulations!

jumpingbeans · 03/11/2010 13:37

i got married back in the 70's in Feb, it was bloody cold, I wore a Black 40's style fitted suit, white statin shirt, white kitten heel shoes, white gloves and a little white hat with a fur/feather thing on the side, I loved it, when I look at the pics now, I still love it

EvilEyeButterPie · 03/11/2010 13:42

Me and DH (of a few minutes) after the reg office

superv1xen · 03/11/2010 14:11

awwwwww bless you look gorgeous evileye cute DC as well. lovely pic!

that white dress and the haute hippie one are beautiful mrsruffalo as are the john lewis ones everything but way out of our budget, i can't really afford more than about £100 on a dress at the absolute max.

jumpingbeans that sounds fab bet you looked amazing.
