I am getting married in January....tis just going to be me, DP, our kids and both of our sets of parents.

its going to be VERY cold I would imagine, so what the hell do I wear? I went to a registry office wedding last summer and the bride wore a proper dress but I don't really want any of that shit.

we only decided today! I am sooooo excited :)

You could splash out at Get Cutie, or how about something from Collectif?

MN won't let me do topshop links Angry

eshermummy · 05/11/2010 22:28

Has anyone linked to this yet? I know it is a bit over budget but I think it would be perfect ......
Having seen your pic on profile I think it would look great with half upswept bouffed hair (like Penelope Cruz always has) and lots of smoky eyes/kohl which it looks like is your look no?
Black opaques and black heels.
I think you should stick to a hair and make-up that is "you" but I would be a bit Sad if you passed up the chance to wear something a bit more out of the ordinary (from your usual attire I mean).

maninthemooncup · 05/11/2010 23:06

Topshop have some fabulous patent mary janes with a blocky heel, think they have black and beige - they would look lovely with the short shift style dresses.

You could pull off the Cilla Black mini and white go go boots, iirc Sarah Cracknell wore a fantastic winter wedding dress in the video for I Was Born On Christmas Day by St Etienne, should be on youtube somewhere and apols if she doesn't!

AvaGardner · 06/11/2010 09:23

congratulations! how exciting. me and dh got married last year second time for both of us - had big church do planned to keep family happy but it just kept getting BIGGER and BIGGER so we ditched it at last minute and ran away - we had lovely lovely registry do. my style quite similar to yours i think - i wore sharp white blazer from Zara and frilly blouse and skinny white jeans with top shop grey court shoes. whole lot cost about 100 quid. we had a fabulous day hope yours is great too. x

moragbellingham · 06/11/2010 10:07

I love this dressFCUK with red patent shoes, red lipstick etc. Maybe needs taking up a bit.
Anyway, they have lots of dresses (esp just before/after Xmas in sale too) that are young but smart.
