Well? I bought a pair of Havianas (habianas? sp) in the middle of the summer and have worn them every day since. They are the most comfortable things I have ever worn and am actually very sad at the thought that I can't really wear them outside anymore. I know that I will find a suitable winter alternative but I have no idea what

yes me! I keep looking at the weather and thinking that I need to move into boots, but I just can't bring myself to.

gossifer · 15/09/2005 10:42

still keep trying to wear my birkies - not today though
!
i'm the same, don't know what to put on

expatinscotland · 15/09/2005 10:43

No. It's chilly here and I don't like having cold feet.

puddle · 15/09/2005 11:03

I laughed at this thread title! I feel exactly the same - today is the first rainy day for us and I have had trainers on - I love having exposed toes and hate socks!

edodgy · 15/09/2005 11:05

Im still wearing my birkenstocks and its cold and rainy here but im 30 weeks pregnant so feel im allowed, though dont know what my excuse was for wearing them until november last year though

I'm wearing boots for first time after the summer and my feet are not happy. It's pissing with rain in London today so there was no way I could come into work in sandals.

Kayleigh · 15/09/2005 13:07

MaloryTowers, I'm the same as you. Flip flops/sandals in summer and then boots or trainers in winter. Only wear shoes for an occasional posh night out. And I do mean occasional !

KBear · 15/09/2005 13:27

Kayleigh - snap. It's a blessed relief to put boots on, my children seem to stand on my feet constantly in the summer and break my beautifully painted toenails. owwww.

MrsMills · 15/09/2005 14:39

If your sandals smell (ds1's birkenstocks are rank), stick them in a carrier bag and put in the freezer for 3 days and hey presto, frozen sandals!

And it kills all the bacteria which stops them smelling.

twirlaround · 15/09/2005 17:40

i fall over in my flip flops when it rains

lou33 · 15/09/2005 18:39

I've worn mine everyday since last november

harpsichordcarrier · 15/09/2005 19:10

I stay in them until it snows... tried wearing some shoes when I was in Edinburgh during the "summer" and it drove me mad. Foot claustrophobia or something.

Tanzie · 15/09/2005 22:01

How do I wedge my feet which seem to have expanded after being Birkie clad all summer back into proper shoes?

GeraldGiraffe · 15/09/2005 22:06

my birkies are closed toe so i am still wearing them (yay) but i fear their days are numbered...

I was saying this just the other day to someone

misdee · 15/09/2005 22:07

you buy birki shoes? keep looking at some online. not sure if totally practical for winter, buty cant bear to be parted from mine.

I need good weather for the next few weeks as i broke my toe the day before yesterday, so flip flops are a must.

GeraldGiraffe · 16/09/2005 13:05

misdee, mine were the 'dorian ' sandals, so still open heeled but i have got away with it until now.

PiccadillyCircus · 16/09/2005 13:08

I am sill wearing sandals, but as DS2/DD is due today I think I am allowed to .
