Anyone else having difficulty putting their flip-flops away for the winter?

Well? I bought a pair of Havianas (habianas? sp) in the middle of the summer and have worn them every day since. They are the most comfortable things I have ever worn and am actually very sad at the thought that I can't really wear them outside anymore. I know that I will find a suitable winter alternative but I have no idea what

my friend has bought me some havainas from australia and i fear that they will remain unworn until next summer

Want me to take them to Thailand for you?

GeraldGiraffe · 16/09/2005 13:23

nono...i'm sure we'll live!

GeraldGiraffe · 16/09/2005 13:24

what a selfless offer though

Carmenere · 16/09/2005 13:25

GG- they really are incredibly comfy and Lou33 - treat yourself to a pair, bound to be invaluable on the long treks to and from the beach bars

Don't say i didn't offer.

I live in flip flops and today I had to put shoes on for the walk to school as it was raining so hard. My feet have turned into flippers with having worn flip flops for so long, will they ever go back to their old width?

NomDePlume · 16/09/2005 13:28

They were selling proper Havianas when I went on holiday to Majorca a couple of months ago and they were the equivalent of about £7 !

Well they just look like ordinary flip flops but they are much comfier for some reason. Theyr are from Brazil afaik (but i suppose Cuba would make more sense). They are also much more expensive - I paid about €15 in Paris for mine.

I love my havianas. I lived in them on holiday, walked loads and they were so comfy. They even replaced my beloved birkenstocks - got mine brand new from Ebay, inc P&P they were about a fiver - bargain

I don't know how you wear those sandals that go between your toes - OUCH!!!

dropinthe · 16/09/2005 13:39

LOL at the title of this thread! Was thinking that yesterday when trudging through the rain in them! Can't help it-bought three lovely half price pairs in Accessorize a couple of weeks ago with the intention of putting them away for next year and just couldn't let them lie!
I must have oven ten pairs!

Carmenere · 16/09/2005 13:46

I suppose the positive thing is that now I can happily neglect my vague efforts at a home pedicure! Chances are that the toenail polish that is languising on my toes now will be there until my next opportunity to wear open toed sandals, probably Christmas
