Sartorial statment - wearing day time pyjamas.. Is this happening in under privileged areas in the uk ??

Maybe this should be on a different board, as it's a social issue, but I'm just wondering if this is unique to inner city Dublin, or if it's a global anti-establishment kind of phenomenon. It's definitely reaching the suburbs now here! I saw two girls in pyjamas in a cafe in South Dublin today. Everybody did risk a quick stare, so it's not the norm, but still......

there was a big fuss over this in wales about a year ago - I couldn't believe it - thought it was a joke!

oh right! I'm kind of oddly relieved it's not just inner city dublin. It really is the most 'depressing' fashion ever. The pyjamas-wearers have different pyjamas for going out at night. They iron them when they are going out.

It's very common in Sunderland but normally reserved for supermarkets/corner shops/takeaways. Minging.

Been in Belfast for a few years.Girls from the,erm...rougher parts of town never seem to get dressed! The go INTO TOWN in their pyjamas...pathetic.

It was funny in the cafe this morning there were two well-turned out ladies in their early seventies, pearls, cardis, ten stone between the two of them! obviously meeting for a large pot of tea between the two of them. I think they thought they were hallucinating. Their eyebrows were all over the place.

Doesn't happen in Colchester. If it does I will probably have to say something............along the lines of...........get dressed you lazy slut. :o

URGENT 99% TAX* ON PYJAMAS

Saw some girls smoking outside a co-op just yesterday - both in pjs, dressing gown and slippers.. probably wouldn't have noticed but it was pouring it down! Soggy slippers urgh...

They are well aware that this causes more outrage in their elders than goth gear, or grunge, or dressing up as mods and rockers.

It doesn't bother me in the slightest.

Didn't Tesco ask someone to leave one of their shops recently-ish for wearing PJs in the store?

Oh it's not teenage here. All ages, shapes and sizes do it. Normally accompanied by uggs or slippers.

oh yeah, One of them had those foam bendy rollers in too!! Wow. I thought that was just coincidence, didn't realise it completed the look.

I have seen mothers at the school gates at 9am and still in them at 3.30pm. My Dc would be horrified if I were too do that. NO WAY would I even consider doing it. I have also seen them in the local Tesco express in thier pjs. Its lazyness and looks dreadful.

All the time here (south wales) have seen mothers at the school gates in pj's and in teh local shops as well.
Fully made up adn hair doen though, which is the opposite to me being dressed but dragged through hedge...

Proper PJS sheep, cows, checked ones dressings gowns too sometimes. My they stick out. Now the type of bed wear I wear would not be as blatant plain bottoms and vest tops no logos or daft pictures for moi thats my teen DD job and she would NEVER step out the door in hers.
