Just ordered one in granite (grey), having been to try it on in RL in the nearest Cotswold Outdoor shop. Fitted beautifully, and looks fab. In fact I should've bought it there and then, but mistakenly thought I could get it online more cheaply.... However could only find it at virtually full price in size M. Hopefully it'll be arriving in next day or so, as I really need it!

FiveOrangePips · 27/09/2010 23:31

I have the brown haven, bought it last year after hours of looking online for a good winter coat. I have had a lot of wear out of it so far!

I like the grey, I think it is new this year.

failedflowers · 27/09/2010 23:49

Hi,

I ordered the grey from shop on the beach. I'm really pleased with it. Can be dressed up or down. Its already had its first outing and felt great.

gingerali · 01/10/2010 07:30

Hi I just got mine in the post yest - ordered it online - I ordered a small and think its a little too neat on me - i'm a size 10 normally - the small is meant to be 8 - 10 and the med 12-14 so i'm worried that if i go to a med it will drown me - however arnt duffle coats meant to be a little big? - its a lovely coat - but I need to be sensible about it! lol
cant be bothered with the sending back palava lol

BigHairyLeggedSpider · 01/10/2010 07:59

How warm is it? I can't decide between this one and the Noth Face Arctic Parka. I want something dead warm, and dead waterproof as I'm outside a lot and HATE getting to work drenched/freezing.

failedflowers · 01/10/2010 14:41

I was cosy in it but as I have only recently received it I haven't tried it out on a really cold day. Not sure how it would fair against the Artic Parka now that does sound snuggly

cornflower123 · 01/10/2010 15:01

The Merrell Haven isn't completely waterproof, just water resistant (according to website - I haven't risked it in today's weather!). I would go for North Face one if you want waterproof AND warm..

alittlebitshy · 01/10/2010 15:10

Like fiveorangepips i got a brown one last year. I chose it after the recommendation of a friend. I am totally happy with it, but being in the south it has not yet been cold enough to wear it this year. It did the trick during the snow last winter though:)

I like the brown one - although i did get laughed at by dd;s friends' mums. You see, at her old school the kids all wore brown duffel coats Blush. i looked rather like an overgrown school child, and when ds (18 mo at the time) was also in his brown coat (yes, with toggles too Hmm) we looked a right group....

Bumperlicious · 01/10/2010 15:53

Can't afford North Face prices (can't even afford the Merrell ones!). Can't decide between the Wakefield or Haven for Autumn/Winter pram pushing!

pigindisguise · 01/10/2010 16:05

just posted on the other (long) thread - triedboth on today, both really nice. I think I would go for the Haven as it's warmer but am worried it's not waterproof enough - girl in shop said it was only showerproof Hmm

pigindisguise · 01/10/2010 16:06

cornflower would you mind going outside for half an hour to see if you get wet Grin

arfasleep · 01/10/2010 16:32

I have Helly Hansen black ski coat/jacket, its warm/waterproof and not cost huge amount. Was a bit concerned about it being 'chav' but as brand name not partic obvious decided it was ok, and think I'm ok as long as I don't wear with maybe velour tracksuit! Wink

moragbellingham · 01/10/2010 16:38

Definitely the grey Haven.

Hairy - The Arctic Parka is so warm and with the added bonus of being waterproof - how can you resist? The furry bit of the hood unszips off too.
They will sell out so don't wait until we have a very cold snap to buy if you decide!

cornflower123 · 01/10/2010 16:42

LOL Pigs! As I'm only just getting over the first cold of the term, I'd rather not risk the effects! Forcast is dry for DS's football match tomorrow morning so looking forward to wearing it then. Will also see if other football mums notice my stylish attire Wink.

pigindisguise · 01/10/2010 16:44
Grin the arctic parka did look nice and warm but it's WAAAAY out of my price bracket (so are the merrell ones really but am going to sell a couple of things on ebay to justify it)
gibba8 · 01/10/2010 20:16

Pigindisguise-you can have my merrell isadore at a greatly reduced price if you are interested. Bought it last week and it is so warm and lovely but have now seen the North Face Artic parka which i lurvvve!

BoobBuffet · 01/10/2010 20:23

Can I just throw olive green into the mix? It's luvvery.

pigindisguise · 01/10/2010 20:44

ooh gibba what size is it? I am an 8-10

boobbuffet I haven't seen the olive 'IRL', but the grey was lovely, almost a blue-grey

failedflowers · 02/10/2010 12:46

I went out in my Haven in heavy rain yesterday and it proved to be totally waterproof. I wasn't out for long but the rain literally fell off me. Very impressed.

Bumperlicious · 02/10/2010 13:51

Great, am v nearly sold on the haven.

Bumperlicious · 10/10/2010 19:38

Anyone else got one? I need confirmation of it's fabness before i splurge.

also, what colour? am liking the granite.

gibba8 · 10/10/2010 19:49

Pigindisguise - it is a medium size 12 so no good for you but still lusting after the North Face Parka if anyone wants a lovely new Merrell Isadore for £150.

£50 off the selling price-never been worn and still has all labels attached. My husband will divorce me if I buy a North Face Parks without selling the Merrell first!!

Littlepumpkinpie · 10/10/2010 20:29
