Oh no, the worst outfit is one where a lot of effort has been made and it still looks awful. An outfit that has clearly been thought about a lot and is not fit for purpose.

Baggy tracksuit bottoms and a t-shirt are fine for mucking out horses or gardening or similar.

I drove past a woman earlier in the summer walking her DD home from school in really high white platforms and a crochet (therefore see though) dress which stopped just above her badger.

I think it depends on the figure of the woman. For me it would be pale coloured, too tight leggings, with flats. That would accentuate all my worst features. The top would have to be baggy so it looked as though I had no waist and end either at the top of my thighs, or at the hip, to expose the camel foot, as these are my widest points. The colours cream and beige make me look particularly wan. I feel ill just thinking about it.

3/4 length anything, except sleeves. Skirts, combats, trousers, all those things. Especially if worn with leather comfortable sandals and a plain top.

I'll allow ankle skimmers, but only if you look like Audrey Hepburn.

I saw a (fairly overweight) woman in the supermarket once wearing see through lace leggings, no knickers, a corset and a tiny, tight leather jacket... that was fairly traumatic for spectators.

But for everyday as opposed to escaped mental patient nastiness I nominate the girls who wear white pants about 3 sizes too small with tops that end right under the boobs and enough fake tan to keep the contestants on Top Model going for several years.

Do you remember the Poncho debacle of 2005? Normally sensible women decided to swan around with the crochet cloth off their nan's best coffee table?
Followed by the Gypsy Skirt crisis of 2006? British women who spent their summers dodging puddles and getting on and off buses thought that long white cotton was the way to go...

This year has to be the year of the Out of Context Maxi Dress... are you going to a beach wedding or do you have a tryst at a sea-front restaurant in St. Tropez? FINE. Are you going to work on the tube? Not so much.

I think for impracticality, the prize has to go the gorgeous mother of a toddler I saw briefly wearing a strapless maxidress.

Many people discovered that maxidresses cannot withstand a determined climb by an energetic toddler.

Actual sight witnessed recently:

Fake Jimmy Choo shoes with tight leggings chopped off to show imminent varicose veins and emphasising the very knobbly calves and thick ankles. Topped with a crochet top that showed a greying bra and stopped on the hips just at the place that makes them look 1000 times wider than they actually are.

Accessories: rip off Burberry handbag with small dog peeping out, cigarette, can of lager, red bandana.

She is a lovely person, but she really does not dress to show her assets (she is petite and very curvy).

IMO, it has to be the terrible faux pas of

"just because it is available in your size, it doesn't mean you should wear it"

They are for SMALL CHILDREN, not grown adults!

Agree with KaraStarbuckThrace . They are either so baggy they make the wearer's bum look mahoosive or they are slightly short in the body and therefore must be rather uncomfortable in the badger area..... :o

I've never found a badger in mine...do you think I should start combing it?
