i'd probably say baggy old tracksuit bottoms [grey]

and a baggy old tee.

A French maid's outfit with cut-out nipples, or similar.

(Sorry, Stealth, I couldn't do the white dress thing you were looking for. After all, I got married in green!)

TheCrackFox · 11/09/2010 18:19

Prison uniform?

motherinferior · 11/09/2010 18:25

Sedate Lady Clothes. In restrained and tasteful shades, with mid-high heels. Clothes that radiate 'I stick to all the rules of tastefulness for a middle-aged lady in her 40s'.

Speaking as a 47 year old in a brown silk top from the charity shop, jeans and bare feet (with chipped nail varnish).

JenaiMarrHePlaysGuitar · 11/09/2010 18:29

Like the sun...

Petit Chablis met keyboard, via mouth Grin

Clary · 11/09/2010 18:29

Trackie bottoms if not training or off to an aerobics class.

Or wot MI said Grin

Speaking as one wearing manky H&M t shirt and v old Boden linen long skirt. And bare feet. Well it's sunny here.

LOL @ pagwatch.

ShadeofViolet · 11/09/2010 18:43

It has to be if a woman wears shoes that are too high/too small etc, and they waddle around trying desperately not to look like they have shit themselves, all the while you know they are crippled in pain!

DontCallMeBaby · 11/09/2010 18:43

This thread reminded me I haven't visited peopleofwalmart for a while - after a quick peruse, I would like to nominate this.

Has to be leggings with a top.

I'm talking about cheap baggy leggings, which are also a little bit see through. They are teamed with a top that skims the waist, exposing the bottom.

I cannot believe that women walk around in public like that. This from someone who happily goes to the shops in her pyjamas, or did until DH banned me from doing it any more.

ElephantsAndMiasmas · 11/09/2010 22:52

Has to be either harem pants, or those horrible wraparound trousers beloved of gap year students, really wrinkly and baggy. Topped with er, a 3 sizes too small leather waistcoat top. Topped with a GIANT poncho, the kind that a whole family could shelter under.

mmmm.

lal123 · 11/09/2010 22:54

anything made out of crisp packets

Just13moreyearstogo · 11/09/2010 22:55

Ridiculously high shoes with pointy toes that are obviously killing the woman.

Makes me think of Chinese foot binding.

lottiejenkins · 11/09/2010 23:04

this is ghastly and immediately sprung to mind!!

Maisiethemorningsidecat · 11/09/2010 23:11

Lynette - exactly what were you looking for when you found that?!!

Any tight short outfit with spikey heels and fake tan on bare legs worn by anyone over the age of 20 outside a nightclub always makes my eyes hurt. Where's Pod and Jenny when you need them?

FellatioNelson · 11/09/2010 23:17

I want to say sportswear when you are not in the gym but it's too obvious, and I agree that there are times when crap baggy sweats are just the ticket.

So, I'll say anything that is wholly inappropriate for your age/size/the time of day. Mostly the time of day, because some sassy people can carry off clothes that are too young/slim for the rest of us, with aplomb, but everyone looks naff in nightclub wear at 11 am on the high street, or in the workplace.

carriedababi · 11/09/2010 23:28

oh no, i looooove the swan dress.

i'd wear that

OP posts:
FellatioNelson · 11/09/2010 23:34

Well I wouldn't wear it, but she's Bonkers Bjork and she can do no wrong in my eyes!

TigerseyeMum · 11/09/2010 23:45

Anything too OTT that makes you immediately think 'How much does she charge?' Wink

Sexy dressing is fine by me but too much and it can go horribly wrong. I once saw a lady on a Sunday afternoon turn up (presumably for lunch) with her family dressed in black leather leggings, a black leather corset and a black leather tight jacket with killer black patent heels and big hair and Siouxie-Sioux make up. In other circumstances it may have looked ok but in Sunday lunchtime suburbia it looked, well....wrong.

The bloke with her looked very chipper about the whole thing though...

Of course, I assume they were family, and I assume they were about to have lunch Hmm

Alouiseg · 12/09/2010 08:17

My pet hate is women who wear too high shoes that they can't walk in. Especially when it makes them bend forward and stick their bums out as if they have a poker rammed up there.
