What was that loopy hair thing called? (

I think, back in the late 80's it was. It was this sort of rigid loop thing that you stuck in your hair and threaded a ponytail through it, and then you sort of pulled your ponytail in on itself?

Was about the same time that snoods were popular for those that remember!

Was doing dd1's hair this morning and wondering if they still did them - she's got lovely long hair and was thinking that style might look nice for school?

No, definitely wasn't that. It was, like, the 80's equivalent of hair straighteners. Everyone had one.

Not sure what it is called, but Claires sell them.

Oooh, thanks MrsM. Will go look! 'Tis bugging me now, though, it's name. As if I have nothing more important to fret about.

I really don't remember the original version having the word pony in it. I could be wrong though!

Maybe tref and paisley are right!! I have tried so hard to forget the 80's I now struggle to remember things when I want to!! (horrid horrid image of self in batwing jumper and huge Princess Di style fringe flits briefly to the forefront)

I definitely had a pony flip, I remember having a joke about having a flippin pony tail - but I've just googled it and come up with topsy tail too.

I think we still have one - used to do DD's hair with it.

I thought it was a Pony-Tailer, but ebay searching (Pony-tail tool) comfirms they sell as a Topsy Tail
