Bras for the Buxom- where do you get yours?

Now I know I'm larger than your average mama, but trying to buy a bra is getting ridiculous. I'm a 38GG and have to buy from Bravissimo, which is wonderful and has nice stuff but is so ruddy expensive. Does anyone know of any other (preferably cheaper) places to get bras for the busty??!!

I go to M&S but they only go up to G. (I'm F)

Distel · 26/08/2005 13:32

I say a catalouge advertised called 'Simply be' and it was for size 14+. Maybe you could try them, they had a website simplybe.com. Don't know about prices.

Distel · 26/08/2005 13:33

Sorry, I saw not I say

Mandymoo · 26/08/2005 13:33

Have no advice - just extremely jealous!!! ( I am like an ironing board!)

dizzymama · 26/08/2005 13:37

Ah, Mm, but I bet you can lie on your back without throttling yourself with your own bazoomas!!!

I can't remember if there was a link for figleaves, so here it is

dizzymama · 26/08/2005 14:02

Ooooo, now they look nice! And they go even bigger than me, which makes me feel small (ok, maybe not 'small'!)
More praise coming your way>>>>>>>>>

AmpleBosom.com are good.

Windermere · 26/08/2005 14:22

Unfortunately I think Bravissimo is about the cheapest. Before I was pregnant I was a 30F which was a complete nightmare and I always paid an absolute fortune. But I was measured yesterday and yipee pregnancy seems to have shrunk them and I'm now 32D which means I can shop anywhere

dizzymama · 26/08/2005 14:36

No fair! Pregnancy just made mine bigger and they stayed that way (Dd is 7 months now )
Great link wwb !

I second Ample Bosom as a good company to deal with. I also keep an eye on ebay - just type your size into search. Most of the stuff is new and you can pick up a bargain if it's a brand you know will fit you.

Hello my dizzy friend

I have a similar problem, or two

I'm a 42 H and have trouble getting any bras other than Doreen bra

I was going to suggest Figleaves, ample bosom and simply be but others have beaten me to it.

ssd · 26/08/2005 14:46

I always buy Warners bra's and I'm an H cup!!!!

Beat that!!

WigWamBam · 26/08/2005 14:46

You want to try being a 48G (bigger in some styles) ... good old Doreen Bra is about as good as it gets

WigWamBam · 26/08/2005 14:47

And as for needing a nursing bra in a 48K ... don't get me started ...

dyzzidi · 26/08/2005 14:50

I wear an F Cup and normally buy from M & S.

I was PMSL the other day when I friend said when your PG starts showing more it will be wierd as you wn't be able to look down and see your feet.

I replied I havent been able to easily see my feet since I was fourteen.

Needless to say she is a B cup.

Tabs · 26/08/2005 14:54

If any of you live anywhere near Bishop's Stortford then there's a fab independent shop called Carol's. Carol seems to work out your size just by looking at you the moment you walk in!

I've bought loads of stuff from her in H cup - it's great to actually have a choice. If you can afford to splash out then ask her about Prima Donna bras. They're a small company I believe, so you don't see their stuff many places, but it's pretty and really supportive for the larger lady. Not a Doreen in sight in my household!

sorrel · 26/08/2005 14:59

you could try here who saved me when figleaves and bravissimo failed my ridiculous size( 46aa).
