Yes, T K Maxx is worth a visit.

Tootlesmummy · 03/08/2010 20:52

Sorry I avoid TKmaxx just like I do Primark and H&M!.

Aitch I will agree Orla Kiely has some nice bags though.

she does a lot of bits like this, quite friendly and charming but not out there

Technoprisoners · 03/08/2010 20:56

My current summer, cream coloured Radley (yes, I do them by seasons) is on its third year. My bags get v heavy usage - I carry everything in them and they get thrown around a lot. It looks as good as new, and I don't ponce around cleaning it/wiping it over etc. I prefer your Number 3, but if you like more embellishment, go for it!!

Does anyone like their purses/wallets?

thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 20:56

nope, don't like orla kiely.

i always feel it's the kind of thing i "should" like... but it's not quite me!

Technoprisoners · 03/08/2010 20:57

Number 5 for the embellishment factor.

Aitch · 03/08/2010 20:58

fair enough, it's not quite me either but because you mentioned antoni and alison.

thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 20:58

maybe i should just ask him for the grain mill for my kitchen aid instead???

much less choice then lol

no, get yerself a lovely new bag. do you like satchel-type things? colour? my current bag is a hermes orange courier bag, very simple but bright enough to cheer up a gloomy day. no brand, gottit in italy.

thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 21:03

yes i think i do quite like the satchel style, tho will it be annoying if i can't open it quickly?
hmmm

OP posts:
Aitch · 03/08/2010 21:10

that's why i like the courier, magnetic snaps at the bottom corners.

Aitch · 03/08/2010 21:12

ooooh, actually i saw this in jl, has a lovely texture but perhaps too masculine?

CindersIsNotApoet · 03/08/2010 21:13

I love
my poppy treffy bag

but I have a tiny radley purse

as it has a key ring on it ..

thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 21:16

oooh now i do like those poppy treffry bags!

tho i was thinking of leather...?
but they are made in england, which is good

hmmmm

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 21:17

hmm i reckon i could make one of those myself...

OP posts:
thisisyesterday · 03/08/2010 21:18

aitch, dp has one an awful lot liek that, so no

OP posts:
Aitch · 03/08/2010 21:18

mine's like this but orange and slouchier anyway, it's a good shape because you can wear across the body or shorten strap for shoulder.

CindersIsNotApoet · 03/08/2010 21:23

That is a lovely bag

my poppy treffy looks very humble next to it

Aitch · 03/08/2010 21:33

lol, my bag didn't cost anything liek that, i just put it up to give a good sense of the shape and size, cos tiy said that she liked satchels but was worried about getting in and out quickly. couriers are just snaps at the bottom, but they do close very completely for robber purposes.

PosieParker · 03/08/2010 21:48

I have this but different leather and in pink, also rock bottom price!! and also bought before we were poverty stricken and probably one of the many many reasons we are poverty stricken.

PosieParker · 03/08/2010 21:49

here I did not pay anywhere near that either, btw.

PosieParker · 03/08/2010 21:51

doh! here

montmartre · 04/08/2010 00:24

I think Radley do last well, they seem well made (I have one that is now 11 years old, and my briefcase is about 10 years old too).

That said, these days I go to TKMaxx and buy Coccinelle for a third or a quarter of what they should have been the previous season. Coccinelle are beautiful quality too.

Mooos · 04/08/2010 04:49

Radley's are bowf (although number 2 is the best I've ever seen). They're bowf.

I would rather go out wearing a plastic carrier bag than wear numbers 4 or 5.
