I've seen people wearing a style of dress I like. What on earth is it (dubious description contained within)?

Okay, so I'm not allowed to post on s&b as I am a fashion pariah. Undoubtedly, there is an alarm going off at hq and later I'll be taken round the back and shot. But, can you help me first?

I see the Great British Public looking effortlessly stylish as I plod past them in a state that can only be described as 'clothed at least'. I keep seeing the same dress. Well not the same dress. I'm certain they're just similar dresses or there's some kind of rent a dress shop near my house and this is in the popular range. Either way, I like it/them.

I'm babbling. I don't belong here you see.

It's a maxi dress. That much I know. But long. Really long. Like touch the floor long. And generally it's dark in colour. Usually black, sometimes grey. And it's not all flowy and billowy like a game gal in a sanitary product advert. It's clingy but not. It sort of looks like it's made of a heavier/thicker material than the cotton/silk maxi dresses. It sort of pools at your feet and calves. You can see people have legs when they're wearing them.

Does anybody know what I'm talking about? I see them all over the place.

I'm probably not describing it very well. I am aware that what I am essentially asking is if you can distinguish one long black dress from another. I can't. Clearly.

I'm not allowed on s&b squeaver. I have neither. This is a rare treat.

Yes yes. Sadly today I cannot come to see you trip up. They also sell squillions of shoes (has its own special shoe area natch) which you will need with said dress.

SOH - yes, TK Maxx dress is in the shop too. I found it in the Mod Box section.....which apparently is where the young folk look for their garments.

Stop throwing TK Maxx into the mix, poor SOH will be more confused than ever, we have two of these too!

Oli have some nice ones Love this one The only problem is that you have to have some dealings with Oli to attempt to get it. I found life was too short in the end

There are two TK Maxx premises. You will be utterly shocked to hear I am aware of both of them. One of them is in a dungeon with no air or daylight, the other on some Godforsaken industrial estate next to a place where clowns go to die (I believe they prefer to be known as Toys r Us).

Er, Mod Box? Do you have to prove your credentials and/or dimensions to even look at these garments?

Delayed slightly as dd decided to colour in her face. All traces removed bar the blue felt tip under her right eye. Looks like I've beaten her tbh. Today is not going to go well.

god, stay away from the glads unless you want your feet to look like something from the budget end of an asda cooked meat section
