How would you accessorize this lovely dress - help please

I'm wearing this to a wedding in September.

I need ideas on what to wear with it, or how to wear it as I'm no spring chicken.

What shoes/bag?

I love a hat, what hat?? No hat?? (I have shortish hair).

Jewellery? I'm thinking just nice silvery earrings.

I'm also wondering about tights. I don't think bare legged is appropriate for a wedding (plus it might be chilly).

I'd wear a huge wide brimmed Navy hat and silver accessories..

I have seen this dress at a wedding and it looked fab. Because it is most definitely silver and navy I think you have to discard cream or black accessories and go for silver/nude/navy(unless v trendy navy looks mumsy). I think nice earrings and quite plain shoes/bag will be enough. Don't think a pashmina would work over the sleeves.

Monty - lovely dress I'd go for nude heels as they elongate the legs and slim the ankles.

FN - lol I had to resist an urge to giggle at my own grandmother's cremation when they started playing the music from the hovis advert (brown bread/dead). What is wrong with me - see it's not just you

There we are - MaryQueenofChocs has nailed it - after much deliberation and to-ing a fro-ing. The conclusion is: find the big 1972 style floppy hat, in navy, have simple chunky silver/sparkly ring, and either navy or nude beige/nude/silver shoes. With a bit of a platform, and maybe strappy. done deal.

I still think a hat will be too much
