Help repair my scraggy middle-aged decollete

Whoamireally · 12/07/2010 11:49

I always slap factor 50 on my decollete when I'm doing the kid's suncream in the morning, but was horrified to see a recent photo of me in a low cut dress with this horrid reddish patch midway between my neck and boobs .

It looked truly horrid and middle aged and made the rest of me look like a scraggy harridan whose sun-worshipping days have finally caught up with her (I loathe the sun so I know it's not sun-bathing that's caused it).

Other than completely cover up from the neck down, which is not a good look in a youthfully faced 35 year old with big norks, what should I be doing to keep my decollete from prematurely aging the rest of me!!! Am I supposed to be putting face masks on it and stuff cause that could get quite expensive? Can anybody recommend a moisturiser!!

My mum bought me this last week....I was offended obviously, but have been using

dove pro age serum

Also find fake tan hides lines!

southeastastra · 12/07/2010 16:46

i have same problem, also the lines that form in the night don't seem to go as quickly nowadays!

Helium · 12/07/2010 20:36

OOh me too - feeling your pain as I have large ones too (and really they are my best asset). Fake tan? Bio-oil?

geraldinetheluckygoat · 12/07/2010 20:39

oh yes, I get those lines, mine dont go all day any tips how to disguise those would be great!!

rockbudgie · 12/07/2010 21:09

I know you don't reckon it's sun damage that's caused it but I've tried this new product that is good for repairing sun damaged skin (plus improving the appearance of scars and stretchmarks). Apparently it's the rosehips that are the magic ingredient. Anyway, I've tried it and I like it. There's two options; phytaoil and phytalotion (pretty self explanatory I think). You can get it here... www.worldwideshoppingmall.co.uk/body-soul/phytacol-phytaoil.asp

Whoamireally · 12/07/2010 22:22

lol have also had the moment when your mum buys you anti ageing cream

Rosehip or bio oil sounds like a good plan, it's almost as if I look sunburnt but I really haven't been (knowingly) in the sun, but perhaps its like sun damage from earlier in life -

I also remember a while back reading about this bra that sort of isn't a bra but when you are asleep it keeps your norks separate rather than piling on top of each other so you don't get those horrid creases..will see if I can find it on google!

I need one of these!!

It says if you moisturise your decollete and wear this over the top then you'll look as good as new!!!

Wow! SEXY!!!

I think I'll stick to the lotions and potions (not sure hubby would appreciate that in the marital bed!). Speaking of which, I think phytaoil are doing free samples at the mo as it's still pretty new...have a look on facebook if you're interested.

And let us know how you get on with the non-bra!!!

Looking ahead, you can get the lines Botoxed if nothing else shrinks thme back.

southeastastra · 13/07/2010 09:07

omg that 'thing' is so expensive! though am tempted perhaps peacock will bring out a version

ShirleyKnot · 13/07/2010 09:11

I WANT ONE

Whoamireally · 13/07/2010 10:45

It's not the lines that bother me tbh, am relatively wrinkle free but it's the skin tone - it looks exactly the same as Vanessa Feltz in this photo (although the resemblance ends there may I point out) but sort of all middle agey. Only thing is you can tell she spends half an hour on a sunbed every night whereas I don't

French women are supposed to be good at looking after their decollete aren't they? Any Frenchwomen around? What do you do that I ought to be doing?

I posted this on another thread. Just trying to get the hang of how this place works!

Anyway, hope it might help you.

Hi, another vote for PhytaOil here. I used it on scarring following an operation to remove a tumour in my breast and the scarring is virtually invisible now. I was amazed at how well it worked! It seemed to rub in better than Bio Oil too - no one wants an oily boob after all!

Will keep you posted on how well it works with stretch marks if/when they appear.

Dropdeadfred · 14/07/2010 13:59

phytaoil

chocolatefroggie · 14/07/2010 14:15

this stuff is amazing and it's half price at the mo' made my skin look amazing in less than a week

DownyEmerald · 14/07/2010 14:29

I read once (too late unfortunately to make much difference) that all moisturiser etc should be applied to face, neck and all the way down to where your bra stops.

Maryqueenofchocs · 14/07/2010 16:26

whoamireally you made me choke my cuppa....that is the funniest piece of clothing I have seen in a long while...

rockbudgie · 14/07/2010 18:23

Good advice downyemerald - I've always moisturised my face and chest/boobs but never my neck... better get started!

cyb · 14/07/2010 18:59

SLEEP ON YOUR BACK

I have the decollete (thats SUCh a QVC word) of a newborn baby

ShirleyKnot · 14/07/2010 20:34

Oh cyb.

I can't, it's uncomfortable, in fact, I might even say that it is a sleepwrong.

phytaoil - hmmmmm - I'm off to google

cybilliberty · 14/07/2010 20:40

I find sleeping on my side ages me so much. I'm all face crumpled

ShirleyKnot · 14/07/2010 21:15

Ah, my face is a symphony of smooth.

I sleep in a hockey mask.

rockbudgie · 14/07/2010 22:24

ha!

I'll save you the bother ShirleyKnot go here

Whoamireally · 14/07/2010 22:28

There is nothing worse than pillow face. Apart from wrinkly chestage obviously.

Definitely can't sleep on my back - would snore. Might try the phytaoil stuff - worth a shot.

As an aside, anyone noticed how when you do sleep on one side, your nipple still stays in the same place even though the rest of your norkage heads south? Why is that?
