Perfectly happy with no mothers day card etc from stepchildren

I didn't get anything from my step kids today. I didn't expect to. But my MIL seems to think this is awful!

I don't see myself as in any way their mother!

Step mum and step parent here.

When I was young I wouldn’t give my step mum a card etc as I felt guilty like I was trying to replace my mum (mum is still very much alive and we’re very close 😂)

Now I’m older I’ll always send my step mum a card and thank her for everything she done for me over the years and still continues to do.

I was however fuming with my partner for not getting a birthday card for me from the kids but that’s a partner problem not a step child problem 😂
