DSD going through the bin

Okay ....

So I am looking for my DS match attack cards as his whole book has gone missing. I popped into my DSD bedroom and look where her books are. On looking I saw rubbish from mine and my DH bin from our bathroom. DH are trying for a baby. I found my ovation sticks and information on ovation. I am speechless!

DSD is 10.

OP deserves the privacy to be able to put something in her own bin without DSD going through it!
Oh please! Do you think SMs should get special treatment beyond and above what parents get? Because as it's been said here many times, parents get their privacy invaded all the time, it's part of the package until children are explained what privacy means to adults. It's nothing to do about who is deserving what.

OP, well done for having that discussion with her and also for apologising yourself for entering her room -and passing an eye on her bin! Children learn by good example, so you acknowledging her privacy is the best way to teach her to recognise yours. It's wonderful she is looking forward to you being pregnant and great on you to involve her from the start.
