they have had them for years in football, if it is above a certain temperature, the ref will allocate one per half, at a time of his choosing (I think there is a timeframe within which they must be held)

it is a regular feature at the beginning of the season here at any rate.

In other news: ASSIST BY BARRY BANNON! so so so so happy he is back where he belongs.

It's just a cup game but Huddersfield were 1-0 up from just before half time until the very last minute of extra time when Preston got one back. That is now....4? games in a row including last season we have allowed a team to score in extra time and either win or draw and in this case, Preston went on to win on penalties.

I don't think I can take a season like the last few games of last season when we crumble in extra time over and over again.

Also, I miss Lee Nicholls and it was odd seeing him on the oppositions bench and Ryan Ledson seemed far more interested in laughing and joking with the Preston fans that scoring his penalty. 🙄

A 0-0 draw at Gayfield which tbf feels miraculous after some of the play we saw. And no smokie pies again! I may start a riot if they don’t have them in next time LOL.

Good to see Hammers come back from behind as well, was worrying watching the score at first LOL.

I’m glad I got my steak and black pudding one at the start as well. My friend went at half time and they’d sold out of all the food.* Her assistance dog was rather annoyed as she enjoys her football pie LOL. Attendance was only around 1380 or something like that so you’d have thought they’d have plenty, especially being the first home game of the season.

• It’s not a huge range here. Apart from hot dogs or sausage rolls, it’s only pies with a choice of steak, steak and black pudding, mince, macaroni or smokie.

I think we may need a road trip... I want all the pies!!

Just back from the Gladbach vs Aston Villa match - which was a lot of fun because a) we won 2) the Villa fans were a lot of fun and were singing the whole time (and, predictably, all took off their shirts when they scored) and iii) we went on our new e-bikes and so the return journey was not awful and was, indeed a lot of fun.

Wednesday won against Leyton Orient, so woo woo
and Boro won too so Mr Bref is also happy.

we had 50,000 in the stadium yesterday, for a friendly! (it helped that the tickets were a maximum of EUR 10, and season ticket holders got in for free)

have seen that Sheffield United have renamed their kop end Andys Mens Shed Stand and are doing a partnership with them. Hurts (a tiny bit) to say it: but well done The Blades. More men's teams should be doing that.

I have been on holiday to France and Belgium and so many people had electric bikes. Just having a relaxed bike ride up the hills.

I haven't really paid any attention to the football.

On a side note-I feel like that little goatee on Odegaard makes him look a bit like Mr Tumnus.

Would say its nice to have the football back but Gillingham lost 3-0 at home yesterday In their defence it wasn't a bad performance and the scoreline flattered Walsall really, but, once again goals are proving elusive. Our 2 keeper's are injured so they've signed Ashley Maynard-Brewer from Sheffield Wednesday on an emergency loan deal. Hopefully my club will look after him @Brefugee
