Can't find a thread so thought I'd start one nice and early for some pre chat.

Really don't think either England or Wales are going to get out of the pool rounds 🙁

Phew.

AndNobbyDancing · 07/10/2023 18:50

Agreed

Lip reading the Samoan saying 'FFS' I felt for him

Hellocatshome · 07/10/2023 18:53

I used to love Farell but he has had his day and England do not play well when he is on the field for whatever reason so time he stayed on the bench.

KnickerlessParsons · 07/10/2023 19:02

Thunderpunt · 07/10/2023 18:28

Wtf, Farrell out of time for penalty kick.... with his experience, dickhead

Never seen that before. Idiot.
Farrell is past it. Ford should be on instead of him.

I don't think I'd even have him on the bench.

Good point

Bone11 · 07/10/2023 19:07

Keep Ford and Smith, dump Farrell. That was unforgivable!

JayAlfredPrufrock · 07/10/2023 19:20

He’s got his score achievement. Time to go.

Thunderpunt · 07/10/2023 19:27

I still think Farrell is a great leader, and let's face it an incredible player, and no one will be harder on him about that mistake than himself. I do agree though, with his recent match exclusions, it was proved that he is not the only one who is capable to do his job....
Clive Woodward's comments after about so many players out of position were spot on. The team for next week needs sorting out and naming early in the week, players need to be in their strongest positions and if that means leaving strong (but not strong enough) players on the bench, so be it.

LadyEloise1 · 07/10/2023 20:05

Go Ireland 🇮🇪

LongBoi · 07/10/2023 20:18

I am exhausted already and it's barely started.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/10/2023 20:39

Have just turned over after Strictly. This is approximately the score I expected to see.

Weepingwillows12 · 07/10/2023 20:43

I would love Scotland to win but Ireland are just too good. What's the score combo we need so Ireland and Scotland survive and south Africa go home? Is that option gone already?

Abhannmor · 07/10/2023 20:44

I think Ireland have to lose by 20 pts or so? Boks fans saying its a conspiracy...can't see it tbh 😂

blobby10 · 07/10/2023 20:48

It’s so refreshing to watch both Ireland and Scotland passing the ball so much - especially Ireland with their switches and mis-passes! Why can’t England play like this instead of just barging into the opposition? X

Alf Ramsey, World Cup Football winner, won by playing his best team, not his best players.

But for me it is the match exclusions, he shouldn't be on the pitch

gingercat02 · 07/10/2023 20:55

DH has given up and gone. I'm loving it 🇮🇪🇮🇪☘️

GrouchyKiwi · 07/10/2023 21:07

Whyyyyyy did Scotland kick the ball then?!

Massive fight. Have to admit I love when that happens. Blush

GrouchyKiwi · 07/10/2023 21:09

Idiot lad. I think a penalty would have been more appropriate than a yellow card, though.

Hellocatshome · 07/10/2023 21:11

I think number 1 would have been more appropriate for the yellow. Pushing the Irish player over the hoarding had potential to cause injury, all the rest was just pushing and not likely for anyone to get injured.

Yes. And Schoemann has form for brain short circuits like that.

LadyEloise1 · 07/10/2023 21:16

I can't believe that whoever pushed the Irish No. 2 Dan Sheehan over the hoarding isn't punished with a red card.

GrouchyKiwi · 07/10/2023 21:22

The Irish defence is immense. ABs have a massive job in the quarters.

Thunderpunt · 07/10/2023 21:23

Yeah and the TMO guy says, after the initial trip there's nothing more to see 😂😂

TaTuirseOrm · 07/10/2023 21:23

I agree with you @LadyEloise1, I came to find a thread to just discuss that point.
I don't know enough about the rules of rugby but I thought that was an absolute disgrace and he should have been punished accordingly.
