Oh, the drama! I wonder what odds you would have got beforehand on Canada, Brazil and Italy getting knocked out in the group stage and SA and Jamaica getting through?

This is such an open competition. Lots of teams have looked fantastic...until they meet their nemesis. Only Japan and Sweden have looked like potential champions in every game.

BellaAmorosa · 02/08/2023 21:22

I promise I will not bang on about this any more after this post (not on this thread, anyway), but the point I m
was making earlier today was that since male footballers are allowed to take part, it's unlikely that only one country is fielding them, or that the remaining teams are 100% female. FIFA had better sort this out because if the policy becomes embedded in big US or European sides, reversing it will be nigh on impossible and we can kiss women's football goodbye.

I've had a bit of time this evening to pick up lots of the short highlights programme on the iPlayer.

The Japanese forward (wearing 11) is having a cracking tournament, isn't she ?

BellaAmorosa · 03/08/2023 07:25

She is. So much pace and accuracy.

DuncinToffee · 03/08/2023 11:03

DuncinToffee · 03/08/2023 12:51

9 minutes for Germany to try not to head out
