Can anyone point me to the thread?

Or if not is anyone watching.

I don't really think Marcus, Jack Walker & co can really do themselves justice in 46 seconds.

Marcus is in an impossible situation until he's given the chance to play the way in which NEv has developed him at Quins alongside Dommers. Marcus has his off days, but his kicking rate is > 50%.

I had stopped watching men's rugby as their style of play was SO boring when compared to the womens game. But in the EngvWal game yesterday (which I only switched on as was having a VERY lazy afternoon on the sofa) i really enjoyed the speed with which both sides got the ball out and there seemed to be much less reliance on brute force rather than skillful ballplay. I even found myself shouting at the screen when England came close to scoring which hasn't happened for years!

Of course, the highlight had to be Freddie Steward running with his shorts pulled down Grin.

HewasH2O · 26/02/2023 08:42

Cheeky!

duc748 · 26/02/2023 12:28

England are a work in progress, but Wales don't look like they're progressing much.

Newly crowned league world champions St Helens are on TV shortly on Channel 4, you might see some running rugby there.

massistar · 27/02/2023 10:37

Well that France v Scotland game was a cracker! Gutted for Scotland. Feel like they could have won that. Still all to play for with Ireland at home in 2 weeks. Keep telling myself they're not invincible.

duc748 · 27/02/2023 10:52

France/Scotland the game of the comp so far.

France/Scotland the game of the comp so far.

Agreed. I was shouting so hard for Scotland.

ShakinSteven · 27/02/2023 12:50

What a game France and Scotland gave us. Very proud of the way Scotland are playing.

duc748 · 27/02/2023 12:50

I hear a lot of (England?) fans criticising Russell. Probably cos he's prepared to take a few risks in attack. But surely that's what you want? A proper play-maker. Smith for England is the same.

massistar · 27/02/2023 13:11

Russell is an absolute joy to watch. He might not get it right every time as with the intercept yesterday but he is a genius.

massistar · 11/03/2023 12:35

Who's watching this weekend? Predictions?

I'm going for Italy to compound Welsh misery and make my DH very happy. I also fancy France for a close victory at Twickenham.

Big day tomorrow. Heart says 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 but head says 🇮🇪 are too strong.

gingercat02 · 11/03/2023 12:48

@massistar I'm the other side of that battle so I hope you're head is right.

massistar · 11/03/2023 12:52

@gingercat02 did you see the U20 score last night? Mullered is an understatement.

Scotland U20 was very concerning! Hope Scotland manage to pull off a miracle tomorrow because after last night I think we may have a few lean years!

rioseco · 11/03/2023 13:03

England U20 concerning too!
Think Italy might do it today but never underestimate Welsh pride!
France and Ireland to be too strong but close games.
Hope I'm wrong on all counts...

HewasH2O · 11/03/2023 13:50

I usually support Wales, but I'm a Quins fan and Tommy Allan is 15 for Italy. I'd quite like them to have a good year to justify their place.

Finn Russell is marmite. I agree with the point of view that you need a degree of flair and vision in the side if you want to play running rugby against better teams, otherwise you end up like the awful England sides of recent years who, despite being loaded with talent, prefer to kill the game at every opportunity and play for penalties and set-pieces, but Russell is incredibly frustrating when he has one of those games where he repeatedly kicks from hand in situations where there were far more sensible and worthwhile options available to him.

For me the balance is still a bit off, in that I think he actually harms the team more frequently than he does anything remarkable, but there's no doubt that without him they'd struggle even more against well organised defences.

gingercat02 · 11/03/2023 14:34

Wales are my neutral team so always support them but I really think Italy deserve a win this tournament and today is their best chance sorry Wales fans

duc748 · 11/03/2023 15:07

Italy are poor, the L Wiliams try was so soft.

Weepingwillows12 · 11/03/2023 16:46

Italy Wales was a bit disappointing (unless your a Wales fan then I guess there's a lot of relief there). I thought Italy would show more fight.

Can't call England France. Want England to win but France have been better in the recent term although not quite so great last few games. Hope it's a good game either way.

Weepingwillows12 · 11/03/2023 16:47

And then France score instantly and maybe it is easy to call haha

DysonBison · 11/03/2023 16:54

I was hoping this would be Italy's chance to take a win and finish off the bottom of the table for once. Sad. It seems a bit of a lottery which Italy turns up on the day - which was always Scotland's problem, but they seem to have got a handle on consistency at the moment TOUCH WOOD.

AndSixNationsDancing · 11/03/2023 17:15

Disappointed with the Italy match but good win for the Welsh with all that is going on at the moment.

I went to watch the Eng U20's at The Rec yesterday (despite the result I would recommend, very good value) and it feels like a re run now.

Watching the English French match. Shock

AndSixNationsDancing · 11/03/2023 18:41

Not sure I'd call it a match
