Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes

A lot of talk yesterday about how poor the car is and Lewis ‘deserves better’.

But no one is talking about how well Russell is doing in comparison. He drove from 11th to 4th yesterday while Hamilton stayed stuck in 14th the whole race. He’s currently 21 points ahead of Hamilton, after 4 races. They’re driving the same car?

I’m wondering if Hamilton has just lost motivation after Abu Dhabi and his heart’s not in it anymore. Or is there another explanation?

Are they trying to make it like Monaco which is actually on the French Riviera?? Is that painted on or is there actually water there @JenniferBarkley ?

I quite like the COTA race track, it's got a bit of everything in it but this is just doolally

I'd love for Mercedes to take a stand here and say if he shows up, then they're not going to. Use the weekend to really do some major improvements on their car and get both of their reserve drivers in (so no George and no Lewis) and definitely no Toto!

After last years fiasco, Lewis probably is feeling a bit down. It's soul destroying knowing that no matter what you do, there will be people always looking for how they can bend the rules to ensure you don't succeed.

However Lewis is extremely robust psychologically. You couldn't as a mixed/Black person have been doing what he has been doing for as long as he has been doing it, and not be.

I really do hope Lewis gets his 8th, 9th and 10th Championships, then retires and takes it easy. GOAT.

I would love that! Johnny Herbert is one of my fave Sky pundits. He tends to be the most common sense of them.

I noticed Lewis wasn't at the Met Gala last night, I thought he usually went to that. Maybe he wasn't feeling up to it, although he seemed all right on a TV interview yesterday, talking about how he is trying to help diversity in F1 careers. It was on Good Morning America.

Mercedes may be ironing out some kinks? Think this weekend's race could be interesting if so. Along with the excitement of a new track.

I hope Merc bring something better this weekend, they will need it. The track looks to favour Red Bull with the long straights IMO. I can see a likely win for them. There is a chance of rain on Sunday though, which might make it more interesting.

Apparently he has said if they insist on enforcing this rule (the rule that has never ever been enforced before) he will not drive.
