Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

It would be a miracle squig so there's nothing to lose. Should be a lively game.

Butterisbest · 27/10/2019 22:39

My heart went out to Alan Wyn today, I was filling up watching him, he's done now, this is his last chance at the World Cup. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Wasn't to be for us today. 😥

DorisDay88 · 28/10/2019 10:41

Thank you OP, yes it's fab, shame about the result for Wales but would never have come to such an amazing country without it!
Yes a couple of you have guessed but I'm certainly not Gatlands godmother 🙈🙈

AlunWynsKnee · 31/10/2019 15:59

Well it's the eve of the penultimate game. Am still gutted for AWJ and the team. Also feeling very sad that Gatland and his team are going. I don't suppose for one minute we'll beat the ABs :(

JacquesHammer · 31/10/2019 16:00

And England have been £2000 for their response to the Haka 🙄

GrouchyKiwi · 31/10/2019 17:35

No, they've been fined for crossing the centre line. Which is still stupid, but it's the rule for all cultural challenges and well-known by all teams. World Rugby's rule.

JacquesHammer · 31/10/2019 17:44

No, they've been fined for crossing the centre line. Which is still stupid, but it's the rule for all cultural challenges and well-known by all teams. World Rugby's rule

Which was part of their response....no? If they hadn’t responded in that way they wouldn’t have crossed the line...Confused

MrsJoshNavidi · 31/10/2019 18:28

What I really want to know is..... what did Rob Howley do?

I wonder if there'll be any update once the World Cup has finished.

GrouchyKiwi · 31/10/2019 18:31

Not really. The guys who strayed over the line were just not paying enough attention. They could have done their V formation without crossing the line and that would have been an absolutely fine and excellent response.

JacquesHammer · 31/10/2019 18:31

GrouchyKiwi

Becky is that you....?

GrouchyKiwi · 31/10/2019 18:35

I do have good hair.

JacquesHammer · 31/10/2019 18:44

I do have good hair

Grin could be!

Squigean · 31/10/2019 19:20

With a possible life time ban it sounds some serious breech, MrsJoshNavidi!!

JacquesHammer · 31/10/2019 19:22

Wasn’t there a suggesting it was to do with betting?

Squigean · 31/10/2019 19:36

Specifically betting apparently:

"In a statement, the WRU said: “The WRU can confirm that Rob Howley has returned to Wales to assist with an investigation in relation to a potential breach of World Rugby regulation 6, specifically betting on rugby union."

DoctorTwo · 31/10/2019 20:34

No, they've been fined for crossing the centre line.

The New Zealand coach has said it was an excellent response to the Haka and he approved of it.

MrsJoshNavidi · 31/10/2019 21:12

In hadn't heard about the lifetime ban squigean, If that's true, it must've been a hefty bet. Stupid man. He's ruined his rugby career.
I haven't seen any mention of him in the press, although I'm in England.

MrsJoshNavidi · 31/10/2019 21:14

The statement posted above was put out at the time he left Japan. So a couple of months ago now.
Was he found guilty? And what exactly did he do?

AlunWynsKnee · 31/10/2019 21:17

I think it is known it is about betting but other details aren't known. The rules are clear. There can be no betting on rugby union. Whether it was £5 on Wales to win the RWC or £1000 on NZ beating SA in the pool or on a minor club game it's against the rules. The timing was a bit suspect. Rumour was the offence was weeks before RWC but wasn't reported until just before games started, but that's irrelevant really..

AlunWynsKnee · 31/10/2019 21:19

It hasn't been resolved yet.

Squigean · 31/10/2019 21:49

@MrsJoshNavidi I read about it in the Irish press, (Irish Times), an old article though.

MrsJoshNavidi · 31/10/2019 23:50

If I google I can't see any updates later than mid September. My guess is that it's deliberate to not affect the team's performance in Japan although that doesn't matter now Sad

AlunWynsKnee · 01/11/2019 00:08

Wales Online worked Rob Howley into everything until Wales beat Australia. Then it all went quiet. I guess the process takes time and just possibly for the WRU they're doing things behind the scenes rather than playing it out with maximum visibility.
As of today it doesn't matter much internationally.

MrsJoshNavidi · 01/11/2019 08:44

It matters quite I bit to Rob internationally😀!
Wasn't he in the frame to go off to Italy?

He would have done good things there.

AlunWynsKnee · 01/11/2019 08:57

Ha yes obviously it matters to him.

Hope this game is a good one
