Can't see a thread on this ....

Any rugby lovers here? Not many of my girlfriends share my love of rugby.

France/Argentina - cracking close match.

Japan/Russia - glad the home team won.

Australia/Fiji fantastic first half.

And now the All Blacks v Springboks - can't wait ....

Oh I’d bloody love it if we Morris danced back 😂 shake yo sticks.

I cannot see how the haka is cultural appropriation given its done by NZ and as a pp says, plenty have Maori heritage. Seems the Irish fans raised a welcome challenge by attempting to drown it out.

massistar · 19/10/2019 12:12

If Ireland had concentrated more on getting the ball over the line there rather than looking for a penalty they might have got something out of that.

Yeahnahyeah1 · 19/10/2019 12:13

Ohhh while Ireland aren’t playing well, and need to chill on the high tackles, it did get me a bit looking at their faces then. Must be gutting to be so outplayed.

RickOShay · 19/10/2019 12:13

Well. Let’s hope they can do something in the second half.

PerkyPomPoms · 19/10/2019 12:14

Fabulous game so far!

Minorityreports · 19/10/2019 12:14

I feel for Ireland - I really do.

RickOShay · 19/10/2019 12:15

Not for Ireland Grin

RickOShay · 19/10/2019 12:15

Just get a try

AlunWynsKnee · 19/10/2019 12:17

Ireland need to concentrate on the basics. Too many mistakes. NZ aren't giving them any space and Ireland can't find an answer.

AlunWynsKnee · 19/10/2019 12:19

I do enjoy the haka and iirc the haka is how the singing of anthems came about. Wales v NZ in the 1900s I think.

MrsJoshNavidi · 19/10/2019 12:19

I don't think the haka gives a team an advantage, and plenty of the team DONT have Maori heritage.
But it's bloody annoying when people want to get on with the game. I don't understand why the other team can't wander off into a team huddle or something. Why do they have to stand and watch?

Minorityreports · 19/10/2019 12:23

Ireland have faced down the haka

JacquesHammer · 19/10/2019 12:23

But it's bloody annoying when people want to get on with the game

It’s just built into the pre-match prep.

I don't understand why the other team can't wander off into a team huddle or something. Why do they have to stand and watch?

They don’t have to, it’s just what most choose to do.

OooErMissus · 19/10/2019 12:25

Why do they have to stand and watch?

As I say, bring your own thing, and then it's even.

PerkyPomPoms · 19/10/2019 12:26

Respect. If Aussie performs their aboriginal war dance NZ stands and respects that. Ditto if England performed the Morris etc. Why take away something that many find entertaining?

Minorityreports · 19/10/2019 12:26

We could do a bit of riverdance at them next lol. The image of Johnny Sexton and Rory Best doing a few buckleps has to put the fear of god in the other side hahahaha

AnOojamaflip · 19/10/2019 12:27

Only thing I think is wrong is the other side is supposed to stand and watch. Psycological advantage and all that.

There was a right knicker fit once because Brian o'Driscoll threw a blade of grass.

Yeahnahyeah1 · 19/10/2019 12:28

I like the tradition of it and think it would be a shame to erase anything which isn’t purely playing rugby. I don’t believe the other team have to do anything but they choose to stand and watch.

JacquesHammer · 19/10/2019 12:29

Only thing I think is wrong is the other side is supposed to stand and watch. Psycological advantage and all that

I’m not convinced there is any advantage. It’s more a showpiece than anything else in its current form.

There was a match vs the Kiwis a few years back faced down by a row of cheesy grins Grin

PerkyPomPoms · 19/10/2019 12:29

I’d love to see the Irish team perform riverdance!

OooErMissus · 19/10/2019 12:29

Only thing I think is wrong is the other side is supposed to stand and watch

If you think it's a psychological advantage, then the other teams need to come back with their own.

Here's some responses:

Right back!! Ireland need to score. That'd help.

Yeahnahyeah1 · 19/10/2019 12:30

Yessss England can Morris dance, Ireland river dance. So many possibilities 😂

Yeahnahyeah1 · 19/10/2019 12:31

Ireland have not really come out kicking have they?

RickOShay · 19/10/2019 12:32

Dig deep Ireland
