I’m English and surrounded by people saying it's coming home. Do people actually believe it will or are they just saying it?

Croatia are good but the Russians seem to support England - which might help a bit on Wednesday. Have to see. I think it will be close again. Belgium will beat France I think.

So relieved to be playing Croatia rather than Russia on Wednesday (irrespective of the eventual outcome)

Even if we were to lose against Croatia, it's coming home. We haven't looked this together since 1996 - that's 22 years and that tournament was a Euro rather than a World Cup.

In all honesty I think there is a good chance that we could win the world cup but whoever wins the France Belgium game, is most definitely the favorite. If you are a real football fan however, you have already won.

Looking forward to the match this evening.

I literally couldn't care less about football 95% of the time. However I do really enjoy the big international tournaments and love supporting England and Whatever other home nations make it through qualifying. I love the atmosphere and enjoyment of the big tournaments and the way that the nations mood seems to be lifted a bit.

England are doing so well this year it's been especially enjoyable. I've been really excited for the matches up until this point. but now it feels like the pressure is on. Before in the group stage and the last 16 we almost didn't dare hope, we'd been disappointed so many times, then in the quarters it was just wild enthusiasm and enjoyment that we'd finally made it through a penalty shoot out and so could enjoy being there with a little cautious hope.

For the Semi tonight though it feels like now we've all got a little more belief and a hell of a lot more hope pinned on the team. We've defintiely allowed ourselves to get our hopes up, and now I feel a little bit sick whenever I think about the game tonight.

On the one hand reaching the semi finals at the world cup equals our best result since 1966. (Italia 1990 if you were wondering) but on the flip side to go out at the semis feels like it would be worse that the expected failure at the first hurdle, because we've let ourselves believe, even just a little, that football is coming home.

My prediction before yesterday was Belgium to beat France and England to beat Croatia, then Belgium to beat England in the Final. Now I've got the first part of my prediction wrong, I'm a bit more unsure about the second half Grin
I don't think they will win it but surely they can beat Croatia? Getting to the final would be amazing even if they lose!

blackbirdbluebottle · 11/07/2018 13:26

I think that we are either going to get 2nd or 4th depending on if we beat Croatia. I cant see us beating with France or Belgium despite what the pig says!

DragonBone · 11/07/2018 13:36

Yes of course it is !!!!

blackbirdbluebottle · 11/07/2018 13:39

If it's not coming home then it's definitely going home haha

MakeItStopNeville · 11/07/2018 13:41

I wish I’d put a bet on as I predicted at the start it would be a France v England final and France will win it. I really hope they make it through today. So exciting!

Argh. This is very stressful 😔
