F1 silly season

It's getting very silly now with these rumours of Alonso going to Red Bull- can't see it happening. I hope it won't be Kimi either. Seb needs a good number 2 behind him, someone that won't challenge him for the championship. I reckon Ricciardo is Red Bull's best bet.

I don't see Ferrari winning the constructors any time soon as this year i think Red Bull will win and next year i think its all going to be Mercedes

Do you think Ross Brawn is going to do another, um, Brawn?

In what way?

Taking advantage of the rule changes, being clever, and having a way better car than everyone else, thus winning most of the races.

I actually thought the opposite as in Red Bull will find something on the grey of the rules that will be integral to the car something like the blown diffuser that they previously had but bigger and Ferrari and or Mercedes will complain to the FIA, it will then become illegal and Red Bull won't be able to recover from it due to it being something that they need to redesign a new car for

Or is that a bit too conspiracy theory ?

I tend to agree that if there's a loophole to be exploited (Pirelligate notwithstanding), RBR are more likely to be the ones exploiting it.

I think Ross Brawn's strength is as an amazing strategist (something Ferrari has really been lacking for a few seasons now). Wasn't he pretty much responsible for Schumacher's 7 world titles?

I tend to agree Brawn was always good with strategy and working out the different twists and turns in the race but is he still going to be with Mercedes next year since he is being forcefully phased out with the introduction of Paddy Lowe?? Maybe he will be the only transfer of silly season and end up in a new team

Ferrari want to keep Massa ... Are you kidding me no one is moving round in silly season are the teams just trying to drive us all crazy!!

...as I was saying...

Its the sound of ferrari's chances of doing anything next season brewing flushed down the toilet.

Not only is Massa not capable of delivering a decent performance himself, he's even shit at the second driver role to back up Alonso and maximise his chances where possible.

Epic fail, Ferrari. Epic fail.

Massa is laughing in that photo because he has some really good dirt on either Dominicalli or Montezemolo.

And that's the cherry on the cake of my shit day!

Massa has got to have some serious dirt on Montezemolo ... well he has been there long enough maybe he knows some scandalous information that would bring down Ferrari or at least make them give back the championships they have won because frankly there is no other way

Maybe Ferrari were to blame from his accident and he is using that to keep his drive because frankly its not on talent not any longer

We had the same thoughts EauRouge :) and don't worry Small my typing often looks worse and if my browser didn't autocorrect a lot of things my postings would be horrific :)

I agree Ferrari have washed any hopes of anything next year down the drain its just ridiculous and i bet Alonso is thinking i really should of gone to Red Bull

Alonso said on Twitter yesterday that he's got a big announcement coming up. Who wants to guess what it'll be? New team-mate? New girlfriend pregnant? New Garmin for his bike rides?

Poor Dan and his big arse hips Grin

It would make me laugh so much if he didn't get the red bull seat because he couldn't fit in the cockpit imagine the headlines that would come out of that :)

I think Alonso is going to say he is growing back his moustache or that is he going to space ... personally i think he is a bit bored and wants to mess with the media :)

Loving the Riciardo article. I can sympathise as I'd struggle to get one arse cheek into an f1 car Blush

Alonso has brought the Euskatel cycling team world tour licence and is set to build a new squad ....I have no idea what any of that means but yet thats the announcement !!

I'm with you too MRs JaqenHgar there is no part of me that would fit into an Adrian Newey designed car because he designs them with mannequins in mind i'm sure

Ah well, it's Monza this weekend, I'm sure there will be more announcements this week.

I cant beleive Red Bull went for the easy option because i think JEV would've been a better choice he has better race pace

I kind of want him to do well but i don't think he will be consistent enough to help Red Bull with the constructors and to be the number two that Vettel so i only give him a year .... Plus every time he smiles i think i'm watching a toothpaste commercial

I wonder did he have to wear Spanx to pass the seat test? Grin

Will be interesting to see how he performs in the big league.
