My breast abscess just exploded

annoyingly a distinct lack of gunk but I did take a pic of the blood and the remaining abscess if anyone wants to see

Had an abscess on my bum crack... (Delightful) it is the worst pain i have ever felt. It was rock hard and was given antibiotics but the next day felt awful, slept all day and was shivering, my sister in-law had to take me to the hospital, I was kept in over night and they were going to remove it the next day. It burst overnight... I was so out of it on morphine i never felt it but oh my god the puss was everywhere.. They still put me under to remove what was left and packed it.. They came ever few days to change the packing, with the nerve ending oh my god it was excruciating... I have 2 children and the pain of an abscess is worst than child birth. i feel your pain.

Oooh that looks so painful. Usually by the time they explode, the contents have broken down to watery, bloody liquid anyway. So pleased you’re on AB’s.

There’s a good size lump still there so I think it will burst some more
I’ve felt awful for days and feel better now it’s burst a bit although the antibiotics are making me feel really sick still

Omg those look so painful! I didn’t know you could get them on top! I’ve only ever had them inside my breast (where they just stick the needle in and drain all the stuff out)

Jesus fucking Christ, that's medieval in its grimness. That must have been excruciatingly horrible to live with, while simultaneously a colossal satisfying relief if/when it burst.

That looks horrific and must have been so painful. My skin was beginning to turn black when the abscess burst but nothing as frightening as you had. Hopefully all resolved with no long term effects? 🫂

All good now thanks but took a long time to heal completely. Had several other explosions along the way but nothing like as bad as the first thankfully!!
