It's not very painful... yet.

Mag sulphate?

I'M NOT TAKING PICTURES.Grin

I don't care what The Rulez are. Not for all the tea in China.

They’re soooo sore. I had to have an operation on mine and then the indignity of then needing a district nurse to pack the massive wound every other day for weeks so it healed properly.

Get yourself to the doctor to get antibiotics to try to head it off at the pass.

TressiliansStone · 13/08/2020 22:55

At the moment those are more due to the veterans of, ahem, mature cysts. But thank you, I shall store up your sympathies for emergency use when the moment comes...

Maybe it's not a real pilonidal cyst, though.

I live in hope it's just something like a mango fly larva, which will surely be less painful than posters' cysts?

I Googled it too, even though I was warned!! Wtf is wrong with me???????? 😳😳😳

frustrationcentral · 13/08/2020 23:11

Heat should help, have you got some magnesium salts? You can buy them from Home Bargains. Pour some in a hot bath and have a good soak

OldBean2 · 13/08/2020 23:16

Just go to your GP, infected or not. They are bastards... I had a friend whose new husband had to dress his wife's on their honeymoon. So go to your HP and do not play about with home remedies, pls.

PickAChew · 13/08/2020 23:18

Aren't pilonidal cysts full of hair?

Badassmama · 13/08/2020 23:29

Go to GP and get antibiotics now.
Mine wasn’t that bad... until my temp rocketed up and I ended up in emergency surgery and on weeks of bed rest because the cavity had gone so far.

Aveisenim · 13/08/2020 23:47

DP had one and spent nearly 3 days lying on puppy pads on a mattress in the spare room as it oozed.. Oh how it oozed!! Wishing you luck OP.

Myshitisreal · 17/08/2020 03:53

Good grief, that's a horrendous vision 😂

jerometheturnipking · 19/08/2020 18:43

As you were.

TressiliansStone · 19/08/2020 18:56

I owe you a sit rep.

To no one whatever's surprise, on Friday it moved up a gear. Not a GP appointment to be had – but caught the cunning little fecker (the cyst, that is, not the GP) by surprise by having my fave pharmacist on hand.

She echoed all of you re the mag sulphate, hot baths and salts in the bath, but showed no hesitation in passing it up to Out Of Hours, who threw antibiotics at me.

It's now simmering gently, neither coming nor going. I have hideous mag sulphate stains on all my trousers and am carrying round a plastic bag to sit on.

Next instalment... at a time to be decided by Cynthia the Cyst.Shock

I feel like an expectant father pacing the halls waiting for the birth of a magnificent fountain of pus to spew forth from your ass op...

crosser62 · 19/08/2020 19:02

I fully expect congrats, flowers and balloons when it happens.

crosser62 · 19/08/2020 19:03

Think you should post on the “baby names” threads about the name Cynthia though....

Sal1977 · 19/08/2020 19:19

I had one. The pain wAs insane.

I was 17 and it come up for the first time on a school trip to South America. I had it landed without pain relief whilst holding a male teachers hand. Fucking hideous.

It flared up a few years later and i had a system of mirrors to get it squeezed. The smell was like death. I had it sorted permanently eventually. Never had a problem since.

Stay patient. The head is coming. The smell is something to remember.

Sal1977 · 19/08/2020 19:20

lanced not landed!! Ffs.

I'm touched.

Not as touched [2] as you.

But touched.

Mine never became an actual cyst that you could see, it was just a tiny hole that sometimes bled, but it was so painful when it did flare up! When I eventually got it seen I was referred for surgery.
Now, the open wound I was left with was bloody horrific and it had to be packed and dressed everyday which was by far the worst three months in my life I've had! I still cringe just thinking about it

Mumdiva99 · 19/08/2020 19:25

I feel so blessed you updated us. If there is no picture at the end of all of this you can go away and not have any support.....lol.

teacuptale · 19/08/2020 19:41

I’m glad you’ve got antibiotics. I had one and they did the trick. Touch wood, it’s been 10 years and no recurrence. Hope yours is better soon.

crosser62 · 19/08/2020 20:46

Grin touched..”unhinged” that’s ace! Love it!!

Never have I been so invested in someone’s pus filled ass spot, and I love a juicy wound I do.

Pilonidal sinus though, nasty nasty bastards, in all seriousness, sympathies, hope you have good pain relief.

Myshitisreal · 19/08/2020 21:41

My god 🤮 i was knocked out to get mine drained it's left it so long, so I missed the smell. The dressings were awful.

I had an absess on my shoulder and i had it lanced at a@e. The doctor was bouncing about gleefully at the pus coming out of it 😂.. I remember him saying "I've never seen anything like this in my life". He asked my husband did he want to have a look 😂. Husband was hiding behind the curtain while still holding my hand, he did NOT want to see 🙈

Feel sorry for whoever mentioned the system of mirrors ♥

Op, hopefully this sorts you right out and Cynthia goes peacefully

HermioneWeasley · 22/08/2020 21:32

How the cyst doing

(Pretends to be concerned, really just placemarking for a hopefully gory update)
