Chances are, your wardrobe looks pretty different to how it did ten (or even two) years ago. Maybe you've found your go-to look and stuck with it. Maybe you’ve reinvented your style more times than you can count! It’s fascinating to see what sticks, what gets left behind, and what unexpectedly comes back around.

As part of a collaboration with Boden, we’re shining a light on confidence-boosting clothing - the pieces that spark joy, feel great to wear, and are designed to help every woman feel her best, whatever the stage, size, or season.

Are there styles that used to feel like “you” but just don’t land the same anymore? Or trends you swore off and now love again? Do you have any pieces you reach for time and time again? We’d love to hear how your style has changed (or stayed true) over the years.

Share your style journey below for a chance to win one of two £100 Boden gift cards. Plus, spot something from Boden that sums up your style? Drop the link in your post.

I bought the amazing Lola blouson dress from Boden last year, inspired by Rebecca Addlington's style. But my style has changed - i used to just wear chinos all the time now sometimes I wear dresses

My best decade would have been my 20s when I had the body and disposable income. However approaching 50 I love how I can now wear exactly what I want and just don't care if anyone else loves it or not. I may not have the body I had in my 20s but I have the confidence to wear things I like. I'm really embracing colour at the moment, I adore brights and green is my favourite colour. I love this dress for coverage but also the design features and bold colour. https://www.boden.com/products/isabel-broderie-mix-maxi-dress-rich-emerald

In my 40s now and feel more confident and happy with my style, looks, clothes etc than any other time.

Amibeingunfeasible · 05/07/2025 22:06

I still wear whatever I can fit into from last 35 years ...thrown very little away. Tend not to wear very short skirts any more though, unless thick tights or leggings underneath.

I was a biker for most of my life so jeans, metal teashirt and leathers with rally patches was my normal attire. I was not interested in fashion until I stopped riding and gave up the lifestyle.
Now 63 I'm obsessed with fashion and have to have every trend going with the odd nod to my old life with camo trousers and the biker jacket. I'm having a lot of fun.

I think 40s and 50s when you are the person you have evolved into, your've raised your children, and if you're lucky have a career you have enjoyed and can start planning for retirement - like other posters I like dresses, just below the knee please, with a waist and minimal pattern where I can pair with a jacket or belt.

I like this dress, the colour, and the way the material flows and hangs.

I struggle with my post baby weight gain, around the middle, but due to the amount of walking still have slim legs so I like to wear above the knee, but not fitting - I need to work on my upper arms -but would LOVE to wear this for summer

Linen Blend Shift Dress-Kingfisher Blue

Beautiful embroidery, a flattering shape that shows off your holiday glow and it's lined. Need we say more? Oh this shift dress is crafted from a linen and cotton blend, so expect a few natural creases.

I was most confident once I got to my forties and finally worked out what shapes & styles worked for my body shape. In my teens I was very much anti fashion with goth/rock clothes. Now I've reached my fifties and perimenopause my body shape is changing so what were once wardrobe staples just don't look right anymore.

Definitely in my 20s. Two children later (one with SEN), long working hours and no family support means that I rarely have time to shop for clothes. I like simple, classic items I can wear on any occasion like this classic cardigan

https://www.boden.com/products/emilia-cotton-crew-cardigan-bright-blue

I'd also be looking at smart work clothes, suits/jackets or interesting work tops to pair with black or grey trousers.

Emilia Cotton Crew Cardigan-Bright Blue

Spun from soft cotton, an intricate knit trim at the hemline, neckline and cuffs gives our Emilia cardigan a delicate finish.

I love separates, and spent the most of my 20's where I was in black trousers and a blouse and jacket, I am still a fan or trousers rather than a skirt - just find them more comfortable, saying that I like to look smart and love a classical look

I love this jumpsuit - which comes in a petite fitting which is something which is very hard to find.

Having lost almost 7 stone in weight the last year, it feels a bit strange to have a whole new figure to dress. It’s nice to move away from my old everyday staple of black leggings and a dress to try wearing trousers with more fitted style tops. I love this one here.

With a whole new wardrobe to buy now, the voucher would come in incredibly useful and I love Boden’s classic styles.

Supersoft Frill Detail T-shirt-Ivory, Navy Stripe

A simple cotton tee with a point of difference – this one has frilled trims and short puffed sleeves. Perfect for when you want to throw on something easy but still look put-together.

I used to wear a lot of Boden dresses - I liked the needle cord dresses in the winter and the jersey Blackberry style in the summer. These were great in my 40s with a young family, easy to wear and in lovely colours. I haven't seen these for a while now, but would buy more.

From the current collection I like the look of the boat neck tshirt

Supersoft Boat Neck T-Shirt-Green Pine

Playing with silhouette brings renewed interest to everyday basics. This soft cotton-modal blend tee is cut for a slim fit with a flattering boat neck. Wear it with jeans or layered under a denim jacket.

Definitely in my twenties as I felt that everything I wanted to wear suited me.
I have definitely got more curvy with age and as I am only 5 foot 5 I find that not all styles work any more.

I love dresses but tend to avoid too short and too long. I also try not to have too high or deep a neckline. Tops and skirts have to look right in proportion to each other. I probably wear a lot more causal trousers than I used to. Cords in the winter and chinos in the summer.

i am definitely more fussy about the material of my clothes. I definitely prefer to wear natural fibres and look for a high cotton or wool content in my clothes - both for comfort and for easier laundry options. I definitely didn’t consider this as much when I was younger . I also am reluctant to buy clothes that are dry clean only.

MissMoan · 08/08/2025 03:02

My office outfits were always boring black - smart black trousers, black dresses, white shirts, black tops..... etc.
However, I have always loved to add a bold pop of colour with a gorgeous, brightly coloured coat. The bolder, the better, and this one would be the perfect addition to any wardrobe:

Cheltenham Trench Coat-Pink Peony, Chestnut Gingham

Our Cheltenham trench coat has everything you’d expect (a double-breasted front, a waist-cinching belt and pockets), and, in signature Boden style, we’ve added a vibrant twist.

PedroPedroPedro · 10/08/2025 06:04

Gone from patterened t-shirts to plain ones with age 😂

FREEANDEASY · 18/08/2025 14:27

I agree with GORONDOLA, wide trousers are great, very fashionable and with a short coloured top very fetching.

prettypeace · 25/09/2025 19:33

Up to thirties had a nice slim figure but very little money for clothes. Now retired I have more disposable income but having had 3 children has meant that the slim fitting cocktail dresses I want to wear are not flattering. I tend to veer between casual 'horsy' type clothing and smart or smart/casual for holidays etc. I do rely on Boden a lot but more petite styles would be appreciated
