Chances are, your wardrobe looks pretty different to how it did ten (or even two) years ago. Maybe you've found your go-to look and stuck with it. Maybe you’ve reinvented your style more times than you can count! It’s fascinating to see what sticks, what gets left behind, and what unexpectedly comes back around.

As part of a collaboration with Boden, we’re shining a light on confidence-boosting clothing - the pieces that spark joy, feel great to wear, and are designed to help every woman feel her best, whatever the stage, size, or season.

Are there styles that used to feel like “you” but just don’t land the same anymore? Or trends you swore off and now love again? Do you have any pieces you reach for time and time again? We’d love to hear how your style has changed (or stayed true) over the years.

Share your style journey below for a chance to win one of two £100 Boden gift cards. Plus, spot something from Boden that sums up your style? Drop the link in your post.

My 30's for sure, 20's I was pregnant twice and just existing between pregnancies, sleep deprivation and no money for myself.
30's are so much better, we have a routine, I am fitter and leaner than I ever have been, walking lots to school and nursery, then work, eating better, sleeping better and being confident in my own skin - jeans and blouses and nice trainers are me.

love this blouse to compliment a lot of my clothing

Sienna Cotton Shirt-Ivory, Tennis

It's the crisp cotton that keeps the straight-fitting cut of our Sienna shirt looking so polished. The curved hem allows for easy layering and adds a relaxed feel. Tuck it in or leave it out.

I found my style after the kids grew up, and am now in my 50s. I always buy Boden because I love colour. I try never to buy black. I have green, yellow, orange, navy, cream and multi coloured.
I know what shapes suit me now, wider trousers and shirts, classic loafers, and great cashmere.
I'd love to be skinny, but I'm comfortable in my skin at 50 odd, and I prefer to buy expensive as I know I'll keep wearing the item, as I never buy fashion trends.
The latest buy from boden was the knitted navy cardigan with cream trim. Everybody loves it but the sizes sold out so quickly!

I've never been very confident about fashion so I like to wear classic styles in jewel colours. I'm much happier wearing what I like in my 40s, although I consciously try to steer myself away from looking frumpy.

I'd be very happy wearing the Emilia Cotton Crew T-shirt-Harbour Blue https://share.google/dNOqXMSskwOLiXyUQ

Emilia Cotton Crew T-shirt-Harbour Blue

Finely woven from soft cotton, our Emilia crew-neck T-shirt has the feel of a knit in the style of a tee. Pair with wide-leg trousers or jeans. Some may say it’s the perfect summer knit.

My idea of looking dressy was blouses and skirts but I'm way more in to dresses nowadays. Less faff and so comfy.

This is a current 'wishlister' as I love the Mediterranean style

Dresses all the way now, I don't even own jeans. Although shape and weight play a role in that,

MummyChocolateMonster · 29/06/2025 15:58

I’m 57 now but think my most confident time was in my 20s and 30s.
I’ve always liked maxi dresses, and always liked halter necks or dresses that show my shoulders as I’ve always liked my shoulders!
I used to wear a lot of A line skirts from short to knee length between my 30s and about 50 but that’s changed and I prefer longer skirts now. Until my early 40s I rarely wore trousers but I wear them now.
This dress is very me https://www.boden.com/products/halter-linen-dress-buttermilk-yellow

Halter Linen Dress-Buttermilk Yellow

This dreamy linen halter neck dress screams summer classic. Tied at the neck, the smocked panel gives a little stretch while the sweetheart neckline and full skirt adds some romance.

Boden clothes make me feel more confident! I like spotting them on other people when out and about too. I do tend to prioritise comfort now so slouchy sweatshirts and hoodies are my friends. Pure silk cocktail dresses are my 'go to' for evening wear and ditching heels makes me feel much happier, too.

cathisherwood · 01/07/2025 18:47

Used to love miniskirts until varicose veins made me want to hide my legs. Nearly always wear trousers now. This is more my style now in retirement

Now, to answer the confidence question, but TBF my style hasn’t changed much over the past 50 years. I’m in my 70s.

Why did you stop options at 60s?

QueMaTeteFleurisse · 01/07/2025 18:52

I used to dress to look older in my 20s; it was a job which required gravitas and authority but i looked about 15! So I wore smart ‘grown up’ clothes.

Now in my early 50s I dress in more casual styles-I enjoy colour and accessories more too.

Probably this dress- wore dresses and dms at sixth form, dresses and gazelles at uni and still wear dresses now with AF1

Definitely in my 20's , I was in a management role and looked very sharp at the time.

Now im retired and trying to find my new style, hard when much of your time is spent walking the dog, or cleaning up.

I love this skirt from Boden, great for shopping and lunch dates. I buy from Boden every season , their styles are timeless and I think, all age.

The Bikini!!!! I wore one in my 20s, didn’t have the confidence in my 30s or 40s but in my 50s I have reclaimed the bikini. Boden has always been my go to swimwear. I’m more confident with wearing colour now than I have ever been so my wardrobe is full of super bright items that make me happy.
The younger me wanted to fit in, the older me is happy to stand out!

I have a few black dresses that have been go to pieces for a few years dressed up with strappy wedges or for daytime wear with converse or flip flops, throw on a denim jacket on top & I’m good to go!
My style has changed over the years along with my body shape & current trends but there are certain styles/ pieces that I feel more confident in that I would seek out variations of time & time again
I’m loving this bright & colourful kimono maxi from Boden for the summer months that could easily adapt for summer holidays, weddings or days out with friends depending how its accessorised❤️The shape & style looks to be flattering for a range of sizes

Nearly 60 so definitely appreciate a good sleeve! I was most confident in my 20s before kids but lacked the money to dress well. Now I have a bit more disposable income but have put on lots of weight so I find it hard to feel confident in many clothes. Often jersey with a bit of stretch is good for me and is comfortable. I like this top mainly due to the sleeves and rich colour.

I feel more comfortable and confident in my style now I'm in my early 50s, even though I'm curvier than I used to be - size 14 and navigating perimenopause changes, compared to size 8 in my 20s. I've always loved clothes and not being afraid to be a chameleon in what I choose to wear depending on my mood and the occasion: though nowadays I'd sum up my style as boho with a bit of structure for elegance.

Absolutely love these dresses:

I feel free now to express my younger nature without looking like " mutton dressed etc ". Fortunately I still have good legs and having children has not affected my body, lucky I guess. There are so many stylish clothes out there now that I can browse to my hearts content and I never wear trousers lol.

TheUniversalsHere · 05/07/2025 06:06

I'd say my 40's. Although I'm not happy with my weight, I think I've worked out what suits me/what doesn't and I like to have fun with clothes a lot more.
