Well I'm glad it's not horrid. I just meant that I know it hurts me a bit when I see other kids close to Lottie in age doing stuuf she can't, that it must be weird when that other child is yours too! But as that childs yours it isn't a horrid, hurtful feeling, but like you say - bittersweet.
And you're so right about Lottie's birthday - it's ages away and who knows what she'll have accomplished by then - thanks. I'm so silly sometimes! It was just one of those thoughts that popped into my head as I was driving to work, but lets just see what Xmas brings! Thanks for helping me see sense!!

Dd2 is a Christmas time baby too Thomcat, 29th December, when's Lottie?.

ThomCat · 03/07/2003 17:51

She's just before - 17 December. She was 10 days late and I was starting to panic about her being born too near Xmas - I wanted her birthday and Xmas to be 2 very seperate events, so I got on the castor oil and it did the job!!

lou33 · 03/07/2003 19:24

Dd was due 18th January, but decided to come while I was packing for the return leg of the boat train from Ireland! That means my poor sister has now witnessed me giving birth twice (once almost on her bed), so she stayed well away from me at the end of pg 3 and 4!

Ds is a xmas baby too. He wasn't due till 15th January but came a month early on the 19th December.

Theres a programme on tonight on ITV 10.30pm called Real life:Unfit Parents?
Its about a couple with learning disabilities who are married with a seven month old son. It shows how with support they managing to look after their little boy and how 30 years ago they would have had him taken off them.

Just thought some of you might be interested in watching it, its supposed to be a very positive story aswellSmile

ThomCat · 07/07/2003 14:33

thanks Fio - will try and stay awake for it!
How funny that your kids Mabs, Miaow and Lou all sprung a surprise on you! i'm sure it wan't funny at the time!

lou33 · 07/07/2003 15:24

Fio you seem to know every programme on at any given time!

Thomcat, I was really glad she came when she did. All my family happened to be together for Christmas, which has never happened before or since, and I was so grateful she didn't decide to arrive while I was on the train. I can just imagine somebody complaining I was making too much noise, and being turfed off at some deserted Welsh train station, giving birth on the platform!

ThomCat · 07/07/2003 17:03

Lou - actually having a baby around Xmas time is lovely isn't it, everyone is around and feeling festive and it's all lovley. It's having birthdays close to Xmas I'm not up for. I'll plan the next pregnancy a bit better!!

Jimjams · 07/07/2003 23:05

I'm a xmas day baby- not to be recommended (although I don't mind now as I'd rather forget my birthday anyway)

SueW · 08/07/2003 00:49

Jimjams you share your birthday with my DH who thinks Xmas Day is a wonderful day to be born!

lou33 · 08/07/2003 10:22

I was supposed to be Christmas Day too, but waited until the 3rd Jan.

I missed the prorgramme last night, was too sick to stay up, so ds and I snuggled up together in bed.

fio2 · 08/07/2003 10:54

the programme was a repeat so you may have seen it the last time(I hadnt). Someone else has started a thread about it on 'other subjects'. As I have said on the other thread hope you're all feeling better soonSmile

Jimjams · 08/07/2003 13:40

I'd be careful about entering the "other subjects" thread. It looks as if it has the potential to turn nasty. Think I may just go and lie low for a bit. Actually ds2 has just fallen asleep on me so I may go and do some speech therapy with ds1. Much better way to spend time.......

fio2 · 08/07/2003 14:56

I added to it in the begining and then retired early, Im too laid back for all that stuff.Smile

lou33 · 08/07/2003 15:03

But the disability/benefit thread is being argued nicely isn't it?
