I just thought of starting this thread to tell you a little about me besides my ranting & stress on here, and learn a little about you too.

Thought it would be nice to say stuff about my life besides the saga of getting DS help.

So... I have 10 animals. I have 4 degus, 4 rabbits, 2 cats. They are all stupidly well looked after and any info you need about degus or rabbits come my way! I am an avid reader, I read shitloads of history books. Really I read aristocratic women's history books, fiction & non fiction. I have a very strong obsession with many of these women. DH tells me I should replace the word "very" with "fucking" but I think that is a bit too crass in this instance.

I love Star Trek. I have seen every single ST episode except the shitty one with Scott Backula. And I just recently decided that I am going to become an amateur specialist orchid grower. I only have one very interesting orchid right now but I plan on adding to it soon. I do loads of art & crafts with DS and on my own, I even had a series of paintings for sale in an art gallery before xmas but none sold. (poo)

It is a proven fact that on my Dad's side of the family Alexander Selkirk who Robinson Crusoe was based on is my ancestor. I also have ancestors I think I know of but wont mention as I will look like a loon! LOL I love Vienna. And on that note I shall fuck right off as they say here on MN as you are all probably bored to tears.

But please do tell me about yourselves! I really want to know!

givemesleep why on earth do you need to duck from saying you are a teacher?? We need teachers! I am sure there are some rubbish ones out there like in any profession but its a pretty low paid, low thanks job, usually I would think if you are doing it you are doing it for the right reasons???? So anyway I shall say thank you now! And I formally give you permission to get up out of the ducking position.

I like Lost and Heroes and did I say I love all Star Treks but for the shitty one? (Please note, not Star Wars)

I like to garden and I have recently become obsessed with orchids. I think I am repeating myself, see there really isnt all that much to tell!

I throw a xmas party every single year for all of our family and friends. It is pure and utter madness. But it is such a success. This last year we had Father Christmas make an appearance, all the children got presents, unlucky dip, we always raffle a bottle of champagne but in honour of the credit crunch we did a bottle of perry which strangely enough is still in my kitchen , etc etc

Must say though xmas 2008 was very hard because DS was in meltdown the whole time with all the people being here at the house so I am undecided about what to do about 2009 even though we have thrown the party annually for years. I am thinking of still having it, but setting a time limit, like 2 hours, rather than open ended, and banning everyone from his bedroom so he can be in there without other children wrecking it. And also having a rota system with a couple of us trusted adults to always be with him. At xmas I did know he had these problems, they were very very evident by August but I didnt yet know all the circumstances that would bring them out.

I watched a programme on Perry with 'Oz and James'.....! James seemed quite enamoured of it!! To me it will always be the naughty stolen drink as a youngster at Christmas! (Babycham!) Well, that and an advocaat and lemonade!

Your party sounds fab

thanks my party is rather fun if I do say so myself. It is very fun and relaxed. I just hope I can do it still this year as I will be so sad to give it up not to mention feel like I am letting down people who have come to look forward to it each year.

well the bottle of perry I have is one of those huge ones, it is at least 1 1/2 the size of a regular bottle of champagne if not x2. Do you want it?
