I didnt read the super race thread, mostly because I didnt want to read peoples biggoted opinions.
I can see your point Riven when you're disable yourself. Must be hard going hearing some of those opinions.
I think the whole genetic testing is wrong, especially the new one towards autistic children. It just makes me feel so for my son. People dont even know him, yet they are already shunning him.

It's very, very draining to read any view that says 'wouldn't it be great if there weren't any disabled people in the world'.

Er, no. It wouldn't. Half my friends wouldn't exist. I wouldn't exist. My dh wouldn't exist. My ds wouldn't exist. And not one of these people has a quality of life so awful that they wish to not exist, though I do appreciate that this is not the case for some with disabilities or diseases.

People can overgeneralise, and it sometimes ends up causing massive problems for a huge number of people.

Wouldn't it be great if we had effective treatments and therapies and pain relief and support and good safe environments? Oh yes. Yes indeed. But that's not the same thing as us not existing.

Oh well.

There is no new test for autism yet. What there is is somebody's theory regarding testerone (tested incidentally on non autistic children) being hyped up to ridiculous levels by the media.
I started to read the super race thread and was convinced the OP was trolling. Suspecting now they are not and even if they are am very upset that others share their views.

No, I think they are genuine, but misguided. If they'd opened a thread with "wouldn't it be great if all black people could be bred out of society" there'd be police, a court case and a riot. But if it's people with disabilities, who cares. And it is a slightly fair comparison because both groups are subjected to hatred which impairs quality of life for them.

Saddening.
