Hi everyone, I sent my sons renewal off on the 4th Feb special delivery i can see they recieved it on the 5th. I rang the week after and asked if they recieved it she said she can confirm they recieved the renewal forms on the 5th of Feb.
Renewal runs out may, does anyone know how long this usually takes? It's my first renewal and I'm really anxious! I have sent in a fair amount of evidence.

Thanks in advance

@Debz848 mine came in the post 6 months before renewal date so if you've not received by the end of the month give them a call x

StrivingForSleep · 27/06/2025 10:03

@Debz848 about 20 weeks before the end you will be sent renewal forms. If you don’t, you should call because it is still your responsibility to make sure you get a renewal and return it.

Hi sorry to jump on the thread, my son's renewal pack came the other day and I have a daft question!

Under the school bit, DS is currently in nursery but will be starting primary school in September (renewal date is November) so I don't know whether to put the nursery or school down on the form. I mean, he's only in nursery til the end of this month but obviously the staff there know him properly to be able to discuss with the DLA people if they call whereas the school have only really heard about him/his needs etc. The teachers and sendco have met him a few times in nursery and stay and play sessions at the school but that's not a full view if you get what I mean.

I just don't want to cause any issues or delays plus having just read through this whole thread if they won't do anything with the form until November when it's due to renew then obviously he'll be in the primary school so I'm thinking I should put that even though it's technically not true at the time of writing.

I'm talking myself round in circles over possibly one of the easiest questions on this thing! Any help would be greatly appreciated! (And sorry for the essay!)

I'd put the nursery down personally and submit the forms ASAP, if you feel things have got worse or you feel you have more once starting school submit further evidence to go with the renewal!

Mummyvic123 · 04/07/2025 09:08

@Braindoesntfunction I personally would also put the nursery he is in now as if they need to speak to somebody they will know him, you can add a note that he will be starting a new school in September x

Mummyvic123 · 04/07/2025 09:11

@Braindoesntfunction also just remembered, when I first applied it was during the summer holidays..my daughter was going from nursery to primary but I still put her nursery details x

StrivingForSleep · 04/07/2025 10:44

@Braindoesntfunction I would put both. If they contact the nursery and find out DS has left, then want to speak to the current placement but need to contact you for the details first, it will take time. You don’t want that to hold the renewal up when the claim might not be looked at until the last minute.

Braindoesntfunction · 04/07/2025 14:24

Thank you guys! That all makes complete sense, completely forgot there's space to write extra info 🤦‍♀️ I'll put nursery on the form and note primary from September.
Appreciate the time taken to reply! X

Hi, could anyone advise,
My daughters dla has successfully renewed untill 2027, (original end date was 6th dec)
Shes been awarded middle rate care, again, but they have added low rate mobility,
Will the mobility be backdated to when they received renewal forms, or does it not get backdated at all?
Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if renewals are being done in time for the claim end date or are they running over ? We have an award ending beginning of Jan sent the renewal off in September but haven’t heard yet

TrentCrimmsflowinglocks · 08/01/2026 08:09

@Ideasforxmas we got our renewal through this week. About a week before the end of our current 3 year claim. I posted my renewal to the DWP on Oct 1st so it’s taken about 3 months.
