This has been going on since July, this time round.
They refused this time round the 1st time because we won't getting high rate DLA. Now we are so re-submit form. It comes back, can I just prove she has DS, something on paper from the hospital to say she has DS! Okay fine, sort that for them, it comes back again, They now want me to provide a letter from doctor/consultant stating 'that her inability to walk or stand unaided is a long term condition tather then due to her young age'. Are they taking the piss or what. Oh yeah because most 3 year olds can't stand, nothing wrong at all with the fact that she finds it hard & distressing to stand, arms wrapped round my leg, wailing for more then a minute. The fact my back is ed from carrying her around for 3 years, oh that's normal, she's just young that's all it is. ing **ers, I just want some slack until she's walking man, they want to make me beg, want to make it as hard as possible. Wonder how many of them have / need blue badges? Wonder how they'd feel if they had to do what I do for a week.

I'm getting that badge, just bloody watch me, I'm not taking this crap, it's another bloody principle thing again now. Cheeky **ards, they want a fight then fine, no bloody problem.

Go for it Thomcat . Definitely write a letter of complaint. Lots of love and thinking of you

Dingle · 02/11/2004 11:13

Oh TC, just read your post on the other thread. You have me in tears and I have to leave to pick dd up soon, they will be thinking OMG, what an emotional wreck of a mum.
I am so angry for you but so very, very proud. I know you will strong enough to go there and put up a fight, it shouldn't be necessary TC. But they are surely up against a losing battle.
((((HUG)))),Dingle.

[whispers] Dingle - just emailed you.

Davros · 02/11/2004 12:20

Good for you TC, don't let them get away with it. Stinks though
If you've got it before our meet up you could drive to my area and park, then get the tube in together.....

MeerkatsUnite · 02/11/2004 13:42

Thomcat,

Good luck to you on Friday - make them pay for their incompetence. From my own experiences I find that if you rant, they will not listen. Putting a rational and firm argument across will make them listen.

I would also put a letter of complaint into the Council regarding you being messed around like this. If your Council have a website I would see if there is anything on there regarding their policy over blue badges.

Good luck to both you and your DD

TC - how did it go? thinking of you. x

coppertop · 08/11/2004 13:10

Another one here wondering how it all went on Friday, TC.

Thomcat · 08/11/2004 13:27

You lovely ladies!

She just took the info from me and said leave it to her and they'd write to me or if I wanted I could go in and collect it. If I don't hear anything by....next friday i'll be back in there, without an invite this time. My back is so bad today.

What's actually wrong with your back TC?
I have just lived with the discomfort, I have sort of got used to it. Got so bad a week or so ago I just had to go somewhere about it. I really struggle with dd, especially getting her in and out of the car.
Have you found anything that seems to ease it? I know it must be so hard for you and on a really depressing note- even when Lottie is walking it won't be much easier. I find I am constantly bent over to help support dd. I try so hard to let her walk but because I need to bend or tilt my back to help her it is sometimes easier just to carry her, and she is no light weight!
Good luck with the blue badge, if you don't get it-it hardly seems worth me even bothering!

fio2 · 08/11/2004 13:49

oh FFS!

Sorry TC, must have mised this! Hope, fingers crossed etc. that you get the badge very very soon

rivers · 08/11/2004 22:32

Hi TC
What a nightmare! I know we live in the same area and my DD has had her blue badge since she was 18 months old ( we used to have to carry around a lot of equipment for her). We got the badge straight away but only because our consultant wrote to them. I hope you get your badge very soon but it is just so awful that you have to go through all this hassle to get it.

coppertop · 08/11/2004 22:34

So you're supposed to wait around for another week while they think about looking at the paperwork???
