Another mother made me cry today BUT she will never know....

Cry in a good way - for once.

Today as I was leaving from dropping dd1 off at kindergarten - another mum and her daughter approached me. Lovely family - but I digress - mum said the little one had something to ask me.

So I crouched down to be asked by a little girl

Could dd1 please come to my house to play?

I was so stunned - dd1's first invitation to play at someone else's house - someone other than a family friend.

I said yes and we decided to sort out a day.

I got in the car and as I drove away - tears fell down my face.

Angels such as these seem so few and far between at the moment.

Thats lovely, I am sat here in tears. I blame the pregnancy hormones. I am so pleased for her.

That is lovely to hear, my DS got a party invite the other day and I was also near to tears. I'm sure they just shoved one in very kids' school bag, but still it made me feel good! We get enough knocks, so the good things really stand out!

On Thursday this week, for the first time ever, my youngest DD is having a friend come to tea. My other two are always having friends back and did from a young age but I never asked any of my DD2's 'friends' from school in case we were turned down (for whatever reason).

At her school meeting last week her teacher asked me whether DD had had any friends to tea. I said she hadn't because I was worried that child's mum might say no. Her teacher recommended 3 children in DD's class who she thinks would be good for DD. I asked one of them last Friday. This little girl lives with her nan (long story) but my eldest DD was friends with this little girl's big sister. Anyway, on Thursday my DD is finally have a friend after school. It is cake sale for Year 1 on Friday so I thought we could spend the hour and half or so after school, before preparing tea, making cakes for the cake sale on Friday. They will then have 1/2 hour play while I prepare tea before I take the friend home.

Just hope that my DD doesn't come across too bossy - likes playing school but is always teacher.

ahhh- im bloody welling up too....! When I drop my ds off at nursery I leave with a lump in my throat. There are 2 particualr NT children who absolutly adore my ds and they came rushing up to great him every morning. they dont see him as being different nor special he is who is he to them.

this morning I bent down and placed ds in sitting position and I was just about to grab the cushions to put around him as he often topples and this one lo was already getting the cushions ready for him.....blew me away.

We do tkae so many knocks that the good little things just leap out when they happen

That means so much.More than words can say. I remember the mother of a young adult with DS telling me about how great it felt to walk down the street with him and have people say hello to him that she, his mother, didn't know.

She said she knew then that he had a life.Quite literally.
