I'm stunned! He just did it, then took them off and did it again. Now jumping around the place with them on looking very pleased with himself. We haven't been working on it- he just did it. I'm flabbergasted.

Well done ds1!

Jimjams · 16/07/2004 19:31

Aww thanks. He seems to have had a bit of a change in the last 2 days and has become mr super communicator. Yesterday he asked for jam on his pizza (and got it!) NEVER done that before and today he found a plastic cup and came and asked for his toy microwave (which he wanted to put the cup into). Never done that before either. Then today he used PECS to ask for a drink so I got him some juice, but then he went off and fetched a big bottle of water that he wanted to drink out of- keeps killing himself laughing. He has turned super speedy with the PECS as well. It seems to have opened up something for him. Now he's leaping arund the place saying "go and see granny and grandad".

Wow! That sounds like amazing progress to me.

Davros · 16/07/2004 21:24

Wow, great. Maybe the PECs have been a key. He's also been paying a lot more attention than it might have seemed the sneaky so-and-so!

aloha · 16/07/2004 21:40

Incredible! And for a boy who didn't have any grasp of language at all, it's like a miracle. You must be thrilled. It sounds as if it could open up a whole new world for him. So pleased for you.

Jimjams--I thought this was a strange thread, but when I saw who the author was, I was so happy that I read it.
