Sorry this is a tragic story.

yesterday my neighbour was told that her friend's daughter (from just a few doors away) had been killed in a car crash.
She was only 4 and had had luekemia for 3 years and wastold only last week she was 'clear'- then yesterday was taken to the seaside by her grandad along with her 3 year old brother.

on the way back it seems they were hit by an 18yr old lad- one dies and the grandad and brother are still in hospital.

This puts alot in prospective- last night i was furious with Alex (age 5) for pulling off wallpaper in the hallway and Thomas (10 with apergers) for cutting a chunk out of the front of his school sweatshirt - this all seems trivial now as at least they are still here for me to kiss goodnight.

I have read everything you have all said and have goosebumps- i just keep thinking how the grandad feels....and agree with the comments about the 18yr old.
The Leukemia is the other sad bit as she had endured treatment that most of us will never have to face in such a short life- and all i can say is that 'if there is a god' then HE must have chosen her as his special angel

this is so so sad. do you know the mum mrs forgetful? has she got lots of family around her? if you feel able to - maybe knock on the door and give her a big hug or leave a meal for her. my best friend died of cancer on 8 july 1998 and i remember how her family were utterly devestated but also saw how diffficult it was for people outside to reach out. they didn't want to intrude on their grief. i cannot begin to understand what they are going through. poor family
