Just that. At what cost mentally I can't say.

Hate list - I'm coming for you

Good grief. It sounds like Herts have got even worse then? And they were pushing the boundaries of humanity quite alarmingly a few years ago. The only thing they are good at is paperwork for timelines and LA empire building justification.

ouryve · 04/02/2015 20:14

Have a look at the SEND tribunals tables here - tabs 6 and 7 break down by LA
www.gov.uk/government/statistics/tribunal-statistics-quarterly-july-to-september-2013

My LA, which does well on some fronts, does not come out well on this one - twice as many tribunals per head as Herts.

It is also possible to pick up the % of school population with statements from the tables, with a few simple calculations, though. Mine comes out 1 in 30. Others in not necessarily leafy areas come out as less than 1 in 40.

2boysnamedR · 04/02/2015 20:17

I can't believe I'm lucky with my LEA - I was worried my rep was going to turn up on the school run and knock us down, he fought me like I was going for his mortgage money. It was personal and dirty. Nasty

But that table doesn't show the essential details. With large scale social services assaults and DLA benefit fraud allegations as soon as a parent begins to challenge, appeals become incredibly difficult.

Another lurker here 2boys if only lurking was an Olympic sport
Fantastic news and well done you Smile

Well done many congratulations

uggerthebugger · 04/02/2015 21:30

2boys no way were you lucky with your LA. They'll have deliberately set out to recruit someone with your rep's attitude and claimed skill set. Yes, he fucked it up majestically in the end, but who's his organ-grinder?

If you ever come across them, I'd bet that your rep's annual appraisal objectives would make grim reading. I've spoken to ex-LA SEN officers who were on for bonuses if they hit specific targets. This might be why he took the attitude he did with you - if meeting this target is the only way your wage keeps up with the cost of living, it'll get personal.

beautifulgirls · 04/02/2015 21:35

Great news - so pleased for you and your family. It should never need to be a fight like this.

bjkmummy · 04/02/2015 21:36

goodness ugger if that's true about bonuses my poor LA officer is screwed with me whipping her 3 times now!!

I am so so so so so so so so so so so pleased for 2boys - it is so well deserved but also so mad that you have had to fight so damn hard for this

uggerthebugger · 04/02/2015 21:38

ourvye , you've probably seen it already, but the "underlying data" from this link will help you work out the number of statemented kids per LA, and per school as well.

uggerthebugger · 04/02/2015 21:43

It's a gutting thought, bjk isn't it? Grin

Maybe your rep & 2boys' rep might think about a career change - something more socially worthwhile, like septic tank cleaning or pig semen extraction?

Seriously though, what happens to washed-up LA SEN officers when their careers hit the skids?

bluebirdonmyshoulder · 04/02/2015 21:47

Well done, absolutely delighted for you.

NoHaudinMaWheest · 04/02/2015 21:59

So pleased for you but what you have been put through is absolutely disgraceful.

Hope you can breathe before the next battle. (Because I don't need to be a prophetess to know there will be a next one unfortunately)

zen1 · 04/02/2015 22:04

Good on you 2boys, but wish you hadn't had to go through that.

ouryve · 04/02/2015 22:33

Wow, that's huge, ugger!

Libre office calc isn't too keen on it. Kept crashing whenever I tried to do anything significant.

senvet · 04/02/2015 22:50

Can we foi or something the bonus thing?

Ineedmorepatience · 04/02/2015 23:00

Cant wait to look at those figures tomorrow thanks for the links ouyve and ugger Smile

MeirAyaAlibi · 04/02/2015 23:11

About time too. Fe**ers.

2boysnamedR · 05/02/2015 00:17

Well if I had my dream revenge my ds would be washing his bed sores when said la rep is in a nursing home. Telling him he didn't meet funding criteria for clean sheets.

No I couldn't wish that. Im not essentially evil. I would make a good la rep. I have compassion.

Once I get a statement I would actually wipe my arse with I will ask the head of my la if he hired this dick because he's known for his ability to screw over anyone like a assassin. Or if he's just a incompetent idiot who really doesn't know what a sensory diet is hence saying he had none where in fact he has five, Dcd is not dyspraxia, a language delay of more than half your life is 'mild'. That he goes to bed fully clothed and takes thing literally as I'm a poor parent. That I have low aspirations for my child. That he made a years nc levels in one term yet a month later the same school scored him very much delayed. That left my sons la file in a public building.

Yes that outs me. Yes you made it personal. No I didn't forget. Nor will I. Let's see what the law says about leaving your council sensitive data for a cleaner to find. Because being a callous dick isn't illegal. But the former is

OP posts:
2boysnamedR · 05/02/2015 01:17

Looks like my LA are right up in the top few for apeals in that table.

blankgaze · 05/02/2015 02:23

Well done 2boys, you won Wine

Take some time to enjoy the lull, you've learned a lot, you'll be much better prepared in future and much better equipped to help other Mums now Smile

uggerthebugger · 05/02/2015 05:47

senvet - I tried the FOI route on the bonus thing with a couple of LAs, but was turned down (section 40 exemption for personal data).

I don't think it's impossible to get this data - but the FOI request would need to be precise enough to get what you need, and indirect enough to avoid triggering the s40 exemption. I haven't been able to muster the brainpower to work out how to thread this needle.

Pixellator · 05/02/2015 08:32

Well done!

ouryve · 05/02/2015 11:04

Maybe an FOI request on departmental bonus, ugger. In a large enough LA, it won't trigger the personal data exemption, but if there's 3 or 4 officers responsible for statements/EHCP, then tey probably couldn't get away with that.

It's sounding like you'll not only have to appeal the actual statement, 2boys, but you'll be starting all over again when conversion to EHCP is initiated within months of finally obtaining an acceptable statement.
